The Sprintbooster is hands down the best mod you could ever buy for your Drive By Wire Solstice or SKY!!!
This little device is impressive! One of my biggest gripes with the Solstice and SKY, hell even any drive by wire vehicle has always been the delay in throttle response. This device now solves that problem for good!
Benefits -
Eliminate that ridiculous head bobbing throttle delay for good!
Sprintbooster reduces the delay of DBW throttle response, providing instant acceleration!
1 minute installation! It simply plugs inline on the throttle pedal assembly under the dash. Unplug the throttle pedal harness and plug in this little device into the throttle pedal then plug the harness into the other end of the SB device, takes a whopping 2 minutes if you are blindfolded

RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
Well... let's think about this. We're talking about *delay*.
The device is supposed to eliminate the drive by wire delay. The question is "what causes the delay?". It's not the time it takes for the electrical signal to get from one end of the wire to the other and it's not because the signal is too weak. That leaves processing time in the ECU and possible delay due to a slow actuator motor on the throttle blade. Now the question is "how could something plugged into the wire at the pedal end help with any of that?"... My guess is that the fix may be more a matter of ECU programming.
Bottom line: I'll let you try it out first

Seriously?
You want real throttle response, get a Predator and dont look back...

RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
One of our sponsors on the Cherokee board sells these. Claims that it makes a difference. I'm just not seeing it though, especially for the price.
RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
I have one of these installed on a 2010 Camaro. Not sure what it does, but, since I've been driving the Camaro I've felt there was something holding back the throttle and RPM's, with the SprintBooster the vehicle actually responds like a muscle car, and even better in performance mode. I've read a whitepaper that says you can press the accellerator quicker / harder, and it has the same effect. The new version of the product has a switch you can put in various modes. In the base Stock mode I tried pressing as quick / hard as I could to put that pedal to the metal, but vehicle still reacts with some reservations. Switch to sport or race mode and the front wheels practically lift off the ground with rear wheels spinning at 2k - 2.5k rpms.
Can't wait to see what happens when my Trinity arrives in a few days. It will be interesting to see what happens with an updated 91 octane tune on the stock vehicle, with SprintBooster in each of it's modes (Stock, Sport and Racing). I'll be sure to post my results.

RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
Its the biggest waste. A tuner can do the exact same thing. Simply remove the torque management and tweak the throttle pedal position reading.
Re: RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
Perhaps, but still have to purchase a tuner to do it. SprintBooster has a market just like Diablo products.Mike_Levy wrote:Its the biggest waste. A tuner can do the exact same thing. Simply remove the torque management and tweak the throttle pedal position reading.
Not everyone is going to purchase tuners to fix performance issues via trial / error, and not everyone has the same level of knowledge you have to know the information you just posted.
I just purchased a $650 Trinity in hopes that I'll gain some other performance increases for Rev. / Speed limits. Based on everything I've read so far, if I get a 20hp. gain I'll be lucky. Is 20hp. worth $650? By, far I'm no expert, but in my mind if I have to spend a few extra dollars to get to a level of performance I expect from a $60k vehicle purchase, it's not waste. I perceive a waste when I see all those people out there driving extremely expensive peformance vehicles, and don't have a clue that most of that power is locked up somewhere between the pedanl and the computer.
RE: Re: RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
You must be in Canada, right? Otherwise you're paying way too much for everything. The Trinity is $599 here, and dealers are practicaly giving away Camaro SS's. You can get a loaded 3SS for under $40k.
RE: Re: RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
How'd you guess. Yeah, I didn't pay top dollar ($60k) because I negotiated quite vigorously. But, still in the low $50k.
With shipping included I paid about $640 for the Trinity, so not too shabby. Regardless, really excited about using the Trinity to get the performance I expect. Would have purchased the device from the Diablo online store but it quoted $155 (US) for shipping. That was pretty funny, I thought. So, I purchased elsewhere for $599 (US) + $40 (US) shipping (about $670 (Cdn).
Anyway, it would be cool for Diablo to reverse engineer the SprintBooster to see what it's really doing. This whitepaper explains it in detail, but I really think there's something else going on, because I was pressing the accellerator to the ground and car wasn't doing anything.

RE: Re: RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
What its doing is changing the resistance in the pedal assemblies potentiometer. So the pedal sees more movement then there really is and opens the throttle valve accordingly.
RE: Re: RE: The Sprintbooster ?????
Yeah. According to the white paper, but it's also doing something with the RPM's. I'm sure of this this because prior to installing, I couldn't get the RPM's high even when pressing the accellerator to the floor.
Re: RE: SRT8 Tuning Question
Thanks Mike, can you give me any suggestions or point me to some where to learn what I need to do to properly tweak the throttle pedal position for quicker acceleration ?Mike_Levy wrote:Its the biggest waste. I've had the problem with sluggish acceleration ever since I bought this car. I first bought a Predator, then a Trinity ( 91 Performance Tune) and still can't get this car to JUMP off the line like a real hot rod should. I've read of other SRT8 owners having the same problem, it's very frustrating and also embarrassing at times.
So my questions are:
How do I remove the Toque Management?
and
How should I tweak the throttle pedal position?
Also curious as to what 20 rwhp equates to in engine horse power?
Thank you for any help you can offer. I wish I was smarter with these tuners, but I'm not. So Thanks again for your help.

RE: Re: RE: SRT8 Tuning Question
We can't do it with the handhelds. The CMR dealers can. Johan tweaked my throttle response and its just gnarly. Ever see a 5300lb truck drift through a corner?
RE: Re: RE: SRT8 Tuning Question
That thing is a waste of money. Some one at diablo helped with a tune that increased the throttle response with a modifyed tune. There is a thread about it some where. Just checked and it was Mikel that did the tune. The thred is throttle lag.

RE: Re: RE: SRT8 Tuning Question
Yep! He did mine and the throttle is wayyy more responsive. Mine is on a truck but it works well. I wouldnt mess with the plug in.
