Any update on this error yet guys. I have heard elsewhere that this fix could be months away, if at all. Timely feedback on this would be greatly appreciated as there is no point me nor anyone else who has this issue pinning hopes on something that will not eventuate. It would also mean we are needing to send these back to you and I know there are at least 20 here in Australia.

Would rather get this info directly from Diablo than listening to rumours on other sites.

I am also available to ring you during your operating hours should this be of use to you in sorting these out. Let me know and I will make myself available. I will be checking in on here for the next 4-5 hours so hopefully we can sort something out.

The error message for the new version should have some additional information in it. That is what I am looking for.

Does this include us from Australia or no?

Is it a flat out no these Predators will not work on our cars?

Will there be a fix?

How long?

I run an online racing league and we just went through this with an updater for a sim we are beta testing. We had a guy in S. Africa having fits with it and one or two more in the states.

To solve it we had to put the files on another FTP to get it to work and my suggestion to Diablo is the same, if it is possible give the installer a choice of independant FTP servers to get the updates from. More than likely it's an FTP issue.

it ca,e up with the same message on 5 comupters. I dont get this. What is worng with this where it wont take a download? You guys keep saying that its something with the internet or the firewalls blocking it but that cant be the problem on 5 different comupters. On all of them i did everything you guys have said and i still got nothing

If the message is exactly the same as what you originally posted ("An error occured while trying to retrieve data from the server. Are you connected to the internet.") then I don't think that you are running the latest version. The latest version will have some new information in the error message that would help me help you. The help --> About dialog will have 1.9.5.4 in it.

That is the same as I have tried as well with all versions reporting the same error. The latest I tried was what you have shown - See below.

It is definitely a connect issue/server issue that is causing this grief. The incompatible CALID's should only rear up once the update is plugged in IF it is going to be an issue. Is there a way you can open all ports to accept incoming traffic because from what I can see, no one else has had an issue with this for a while as many got there tuners over a week ago and your settings there have changed since. Please advise.

Once Mike gets the files for you we can put them into your Predator locally, so no worries there. I am just trying to get the remote download working for you two for the sake of figuring out why this is breaking.

I have Vista Ultimate- actually 64 bit. Tons of issues with the Sewell USB to Serial cable and the Downloader. Everything is working fine now. My fix to all issues:

Went to Sewelldirect.com---> http://sewelldirect.com/usbtoserial.asp
Downloaded the Vista 32 bit driver (bottom right link)

It worked to find the Predator even though I'm 64 bit. This also worked on the Vista 32 bit machine.

Downloaded the latest downloader. Had a ton of connectivity issues, system just kept searching for the Predator and never found.

Went to the file to start the Downloader service- found it under C:\Computer\Program Files (x86)\DiabloSport\DSDownloader

Right clicked on the file, clicked "Properties" then Compatibility and set compatibility for XP.

Clicked Apply, etc.

double clicked DSDownloader and ran program. It immediately found the Predator but had some issues. I switched it to Port 3 and set the baud rate to the only other option.

Fixed everything.

It worked for 3 others running Vista, too.

Mike, hope this info helps you guys.
