Questions about U7193 for 5.3L

I posted this question in the general area with no luck, so Im hoping to get some good info here. I have a 2005 Suburban Z71 5.3L, and I have no experience with handhelds or other methods of tuning. My goal is to pick up a couple MPGs.

I am looking into buying tuner U7193 for my truck. I recently put larger tires on it, and it has a Volant intake. I would use the 87 octane tune. My question is, do I HAVE to do data logging in order to see worthwile results? And if I do, how difficult is data logging for someone with no experience with engine tuning?

...and is the torque management automatically turned off for the 87 or 93 octane settings? I dont need to be blowing up my transmission any time soon. Is there a way to use the 87 while leaving the TM off?

its all pretty easy, i'm thinking about selling my truck and getting rid of my programmer. I have the predator your shopping for with the usb/serial port transfer cable/ac adpater for $200

I have a 2005 hummer h2 6.0L , which I am eventually going to sell....BUT

The predator does not work well with my mods (4'' tubing dump exhaust, air intake, throttle body, spacer, msd coils) i get a misfire codes with predator tune. Predator is more intended for a stock motor, unless you want to take your vehicle to a performance shop for a custom tune if you have a lot of mods like myself. It just didn't work for my application. Here is my link for the predator I am selling on Craigslist

most likely cause of the misfires is the MSD coils... MSD stuff (coils, wires) are NOTORIOUS for causing misfires, and are usually not recommended to use... believe it or not, the stock coils are pretty damn good, and with those few mods you have, there's no reason to go to anything aftermarket for coils/wires anyway... betcha if you put on stock coils, you wouldn't have the issue any more...

and not true about mainly for stock vehicles... the tunes work well with with modded vehicles as well, as long as you do some data logging and get your fueling adjusted correctly...

again, the main issues with your setup are the MSD coils - which are not needed and don't gain you anything, and also the throttle body spacer, another item that's really not needed on your vehicle...

and for custom tuning, I do custom tuning on the side... should'a hit me up....

Hummer83, your tuner is unlocked, right? I think i read it somewhere that it was.

Just loading the tune can yield 1-3 MPGs on the DoD equipped 5.3s.

TM is reduced in the tunes to a safe point.

Wondering if the new programmer is gonna work on my.2011 sierra 5.3 l have read that it will and also read that it won't . Eighth digit in bin is " O " any help
