Well, I guess I'm part of this one too now. Bought my Trinity and the key fob doesn't work unless I'm a foot or two away and even then, it's after repeated attempts. I have a brand new unused key fob that I kept for safekeeping and it does it with that one as well. Guess I'll be unplugging my Trinity from now on until DS comes up with a fix.

Going by all the people experiencing this problem and how long it has been i doubt it will be fixed. I've had the same problem since i first used it, have just gotten used to it unfortunately.

I agree, I've given up pushing to get this fixed because it seems as though DiabloSport has no interest in doing so. Kinda sad really, but that's life I guess.

I'm having the same problem with my key fob amongst other things like the radio/nav rebooting, false airbag light, hanging turn signal, etc,etc...

I would take a guess and say any interference would be coming from the display itself.

I did cut open a cable and can tell you there is a foil shield wrapped around the wires the length of the cable. So it's shielded. The coiled up wire deal I would worry for something you are using for RF. Like a CB antenna cable or other antenna cable. Then coils are horrible.

Just as a test. Wrap some aluminum foil around the unit and see if the problems go away. The foil should block any escaping interference

So the solution is....you must place the unit in a Faraday cage!
sorry..couldn't resist :)

As for GPS usage..some of the newer window tints and solor glass will interfere with the operation of a GPS.

Some of the earlier Challengers, for example, were plagued with fob not detected when the interior of the car got to hot. We found that one on my GFs '09 Chally with the keyless start here in Florida.
<paniced cell call> "MY CAR WON'T START!!"
There was a TSB for it eventually.

I would research and see where the internal antenna is mounted for the fobs. I know in the '10 challenger for the remote start..one antenna is double sided taped under the dash near the radio control cluster. One is in the trunk.

Mounting over or near those locations might cause a problem.

I've already wrapped it in foil. I used about 10 feet and wrapped it a whole bunch of times. Still the same problem. I've also had mine mounted in a few different places with different routing of the cable, and I still had the problem. Plus, when my car is parked in our two stall garage my wife can't open the garage door. When I move over to one of the other stalls she can just fine.

Yeah I seem to be having interference issues on my 2m/70cm ham radio and my handheld aircraft radio when the trinity is plugged in. I wonder what the h*ll is giving off RF in that thing?

For the life of me I can't figure out where the problem is coming from. I even went as far as wrapping the entire cable in tin foil. That didn't help either. I then tried wrapping just the Trinity in foil. I also added some foil to the back of the display. That actually made it worse, I couldn't unlock my doors and my wife couldn't open the garage door even when I was parked in the third stall. My next step is to just try wrapping the display in foil and see what happens then.

Your tin foil needs to connected to the CBA ground plane to be an effective EMC sheild.

So is this still an issue, and any theories why no one from DS has replied in this thread ... I just bought and installed one in my car..Hope I'm not gonna regret the decision ..
