I have an oppertunity to buy a 98 and up mustang predator but the owner said he totaled the car with a custom tune in it. will the tuner still work with my car if he never put the stock tune back in his car? I know on my Diesel tuner it wont work with any other vehicle if the stock tune is not but back in a vehicle. any help would be great, Thanks

no.. it will still be locked to his car...

Is there a way to see if it is still locked? I was gonna go look at it today. If I take my mustang and plug it in will the tuner tell me if it is still locked to the other car?

depending on what revision it's on, go to options > show information or options > show last tune written

if the original backup stock tune was restored to his vehicle to unlock it, then the last tune written would show "original backup"...

he already told you the tune was still in his car

so, keep in mind - it will cost you $130 to get it unlocked by diablo...

the last tune said Diablo tune, i bought it for $20. Are there local dealers that can unlock it or do I have to send it in to Diablo?

nope, only diablo can unlock it....

and you may not have to send it in to them, they may be able to do it for you over the phone, but it all depends on what revision it's on...

what revision is it on? power it up and when it's completely booted up and sitting at the main menu, the revision number is shown at the top of the screen above the main menu... what's that revision number?

yeah, that's an OLD tool... not sure if that one can be done over the phone or not...

you'll have to wait until mon/tue when the guys are back in the office and one of them will chime in...

I'll point 'em to this thread first thing in the AM so they respond first thing in the morning...
