2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with Trinity SUCKS

Post by selzcat »

Just got my Trinity and did all updates on it. Plugged it in to my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7Hemi and went and tryed to load some tunes and it comes with no tunes i wanted like

-Economy
-Towing

Im not looking for Extreme Performence. I dont care for 91 octane tunes. Plus the layout for the parameters is so retarded to figure out you need a tech head to figure it out. Not for the average driver. I wonder if Diablo ever looked at a EDGE CS programmer. Now those are simple and easy to use. Cant those over paid tech head in the office building make customs tunes that you can download for my tunes i want....Just have to say im taking mine back.

Nowhere in the product documentation does it say there is an economy or towing tune, why would you expect those?

You are the first person I have ever seen complain about them being hard to use. They come with an instruction manual for a reason. It sounds to me like you didn't do your homework before making this purchase.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

yeah really... wow...

I wonder if YOU ever looked at a REAL programmer besides the edge pos....

if you can't figure it out by reading what's on the screen and tapping a couple icons, take it back... you would be a support nightmare....

Keep in mind theres no such thing as 'custom tuning' when using the other product, hence it can be a little simpler.

A little heated

Post by selzcat »

Sorry I was a little heated last night. I bet the Trinity Programmer is a great product, i guess its just not what i am looking for my applications or my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. Im just not looking for Power. I just found it was difficult to program my parameters when i dont even know what half the abbrevations mean. For example my Transmission Temp. I have no idea whats a safe working temperature so how do i know what numbers to put in 0 to 1000 degress??? And i was just wondering why diablo can't make custom tunes for ppl and there vehicles fr the application they want??? Shit you would make more money!!!

Thanks, Randal

At a first glance this is what you see when you enter my truck for tunes:
93 Octane
91 Octane
87 Octane
Like why would i want to spend 600 bucks on a Programmer then have to put $1.50 a liter 91 octane in my truck (canada prices) for a truck to burn the same amount of fuel? Sure got more power but for what?

then if ya scroll to the bottom and on the side it has this:

"Comes pre-loaded with multiple tunes for your vehicle including Economy, Factory, Performance, Towing, Extreme, CAI Tunes, Pulley Tunes, and many more"

But now i understand that these tunes are for diesel engines. I just dont understand why they wouldnt have these tunes with Gas engines?! Like an EDGE

My buddy has a Edge Programmer in his 2004 Ford F150 5.4L and he has his on economy and he burns half of what he used too on his stock tune.

Thanks, Randal

I have an 04 DR with the 5.7 and am custom tuned. I think it is a great tuner.

You do not need to add a gauge for a trans temps as there is already one in there and pre-setup. Normal trans temps range from 140-160 depending on traffic and towing conditions.

90% of people who buy tuners buy them for more power. If you are trying to turn your truck into something fuel effecient then STOP now. You are wasting your time.

the CTS2 is a nice tool, I would suggest that for more advanced tuning and the ability to get custom tunes, the Trinity is the way to go, but if you just want a nice monitor, either will work well.
