I'm getting the itch to buy a Predator tuner for my truck. Does the U7194 has a 91 octane tune for the 6.0 trucks? The page said that the 91 octane tune was Corvette only and I don't have any convenient 93 octane gas stations nearby so the 93 tune is out of the question.

If I make custom modifications to the loaded tune, what happens to those settings if I have to pull the tune if taking the truck to the dealership or something? Do I have to write down my modifications for when i retune?

Do you guys have a 91 octane dyno chart for the 6.0s?

Will the predator take care of that lag when you pin the gas after coasting? I'm aware of the PE delay but find my truck has another delay that occurs after letting it coast and then having to quickly step on the gas again and waiting for the truck to suddenly realize it has to downshift.

I want to upgrade to HPtuners sometime next year but can get a screaming deal on a Predator right now. Will I be able to use the Predator tune as base for modifying in HPtuners or will access be locked out? I've heard that the program access to certain tunes can be restricted when using other software.

make sure your 8th digit of the VIN= C, 3, 0, J, K, Y or 8 -- these are the engines that are supported...

the Performance tune should be good for 91 and/or 93 octane gas... if it only has the 93 octane tune available on there for your truck, we can always just reduce the timing in the tune and you'll be fine.

if you make adjustments to the tune, then restore your original backup, your adjustments are reset to the default tune settings. you will have to make the adjustments again.

not sure about the dyno chart... I'll leave that one for Mike...

not sure about that "lag after coasting", haven't heard of that... another one for Mike...

the Predator does not "lock out" the ECM tune from being accessed by anything else. But as far as HP Tuners being able to do anything with the Diablo tune, that'd be a question for the HP Tuner's folks... or Mike!

The lag I'm experiencing seems to be a downshift delay. The truck will be coasting in OD, then pause before kicking down to 2nd or 1st. Once it kicks down, it accelerates just fine but the actual delay is abit unnerving if you need to move quickly.

seeing as how I haven't seen/heard about this downshift delay from people that have the tune installed, I would guess that the tune improves/fixes that issue, but I can't say for sure.

you would have to talk to DS about the downshift delay...I have heard of some people having this problem...mostly it seems people with the 6.0 and 6.2 motors. I don't know if I have it or not...but as long as I push down far enough on the gas it doesn't seem to have a problem getting going. I have a 5.3l Silverado.

i have a brand new 2007 nbs 6.0 max with the diablo tune installed and i too can only get 91 octane but i have the 93 octane tune installed on my truck it totally woke it up big time ,it runs way better, faster at wot as well as from a stop the pe delay from a dead stop isnt all gone but almost,no problems trying to pass anything truck hauls, no more 93 mph shutoff ,and it gets approx 3mpg better on freeway thats up from 14.8 to 17.9 the only thing is ,is you have to run good 91 octane gas from a mobil ive tryed others and the truck will ping a little at about 5500rpm before it shifts .and i havent dialed in the tune yet,tm and trans adjust arent out yet,the tuner should be even better then.

Even if my foot isn't to the floor with those kickdowns? I find that no matter what, the truck still pauses before it down shifts. The PE delay at WOT doesn't bother me that much, I just want instantaneous down shifts all the time.

I upgraded from a 2005 5.3L Silverado 4x4 and that 5.3HO was a beast compared to this 6.0. It would instantly kick down and accelerate like an animal. It didn't have that much power but the engine would simple respond so much more quickly. I'm hoping I can get this truck to behave the same with some mods and tuning.

I was curious about why the dyno curve spikes at around 3000 - 4000 rpm for both tunes. Is this a result of a computer delay or is that when the gas pedal was floored?

Yeah, that is where the pull went WOT, cant start any lower with an auto tranny...

I am debating between your programmer and the Edge Products Evolution. Can you also post a dyno graph for the 07 5.3L?? I have the flex engine, but if you just tuned a straight gas, that chart would work for me also.

Any word when AFM modification (removal) will be added to the tuners? My AFM is pissing me off.
