Tuning the NBS Chevy trucks

Post by bosro »

07 Silverado with VMax,cat back exhaust system and intake.
Currently using the U7194 on the 87 tune, due mainly to gas prices.
Had the tuner on 91 tune before for a bit but did not really feel any performance/gas mileage gains so went back to 87 octane.
I've been playing around with logging a bit and the numbers recorded don't seem too bad.
LTFT's are a bit all over the place at cruising speeds(probably due to DOD) but at WOT I get a consistent .78.
Cruising the LTFT's bounce from -3 to +3......
Air/Fuel ratio is at 14.75 cruising and drops to mid 12's at WOT.
The U7194 does not get much more than minute and a half of log time which is not great.

So anybody else out there playing with the NBS Chevy trucks??
And if so what have you done with it??

even though the log may be short, we can still go by the data in it... get me a normal cruising/driving log... you want to make sure you're driving for at least 15-20 minutes before starting a log, so that everything is up to normal operating temps - otherwise that would skew the numbers.

If you can hook up to a laptop that is ideal...but yeah as of right now the 7194 can only log about a min and a half. I have the 5.3l LY5 (J) motor. I was able to get my LTFT's in line and get my PE down in the 12.8 range under wot. I was able to get a custom tune from DS that pulled some timing down low...and I worked off that custom tune as my base for all the logging I did.
