OIL TEMP is not on PID list - Trinity - R/T Challenger 09

Post by FrankOrange »

Hemi 5.7 (u7135) - R/T Challenger 09

Both version "v.1r07" and "v.1r07a" for my Trinity fail to show the PID option of OIL TEMP in Cooling menu [or in any other menu].
My EVIC display shows this data so the car has the sensor for this.

Is there any way to access this data and monitor it on Trinity?

Look in the J1850 Protocol Group.

You and me both, brother! If it's not in the list, perhaps Diablosport can do an incremental update to make it available? If I can see it in the EVIC, it's got to be available somewhere in the ECU...

OK. I see what happened. J1850 group only shows up with a 05 SRT8 ECU. Same tool; but for a different ECU family.

There is a PID called "OIL TEMP Calc" in Cooling group in Trinity that is part of 07 thru 09 ECU family. I'll need to investigate why it's not showing up.

I noticed the same thing with my 2010 Hemi Charger Police Model....

It seems like there is no quick fix for this.
I was wondering ...replacement could solve this?
Is it possible that a Trinity behaves differently than the other one on the same car? or this issue comes from my car and replacement won't help?

Any thought on this subject? This issue exists for months.
I've been away...have I missed the solution somewhere :) ?

Thought this thread was dead, did you!?

I was hoping the new mega-update would have included an oil temp PID... still no luck.

I like the new look, and the scalable gauges, but WHERE'S THE OIL TEMP?

You bet your ass it's got a HEMI!
