Bset tune to use with 50 Shot Wet System.

Post by ggaliano »

Any suggestions as to which tune would be best suited for a 50 shot Wet system as far as timing goes? The NOS/Fuel solenoid is only activated WOT with a .033/.020 shot of NOS and Fuel, with a recommended timing retard of 2 degrees. I am currently using the 93 canned tune, and plan on setting

WOT Spark 1k-3.8k:
-0 degrees in the 1000-3800 rpm range
WOT Spark 4k-4.8k:
-02 degrees in the 4000-4800 rpm range
WOT Spark 5k-7k:
-04 degrees in the 5000-7000 rpm range

or should I use the same settings but go back to a stock tune, or any of the other canned tunes?

I am not worried about fuel, because with such a small amount of N2O, and it being wet its sure to be more rich then not. I also what to keep the same heat range plugs. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advanced.

does your canned tunes make any adjustment to wot spark on its own? meaning are the degress different from stock when i load a canned tune or is that up to me to change?

also if i am going to run a similar wet shot would i need to go to colder plugs? if so how many steps? you mentioned something about gap. should the gap be smaller with a wet shot? are there any recommended plugs or gap settings that would work best on a v6?

This is a good Point! How much advanced is built into the 93 canned tune? Would a -2 degree be enough timing retard on the 93 tune, or should it be more?

I guess the best way is to do some data logs, and see where the timing is at WOT on the 93 tune. I can also load the stock tune and check WOT timing again and go from there. Because this is a progressive system, and the predator gives me the ability to set timing at a given RPM, and WOT makes running the canned tunes pretty safe.

MikeL if you know where the 93 tune timing is as opposed to stock would you please enlighten me?

MG7, thank you for your input. If I Happen to see Barney on the road, I will let you know i'm there!!!!!

We add 2-3* at WOT generally, depending on the application, best way to know for sure is to log stock and tuned and see what it looks like ;)
