Disparity in ET between '05 - '06 R/Ts

Post by AJ_Gil »

A bunch of us have been running in the "Mopar Challenge" at Moroso (as are a couple of Diablo guys)
Here's the thing, before we got our Diablo tuners a friend that has a '06 Charger R/T and my '05 Mag were always around the same times (mid 14.5s). After installing the 93 CAT tune my ETs dropped to the mid-low 14.2s while my friends '06 Charger and another similar one dropped into the mid-low 14.1s.
I'm curious why their cars are around a 10th faster with similar mods. The only difference I can see between the cars is the model year but a 10th faster is a LOT.
Any ideas??

Something as simple as different CAI could result in a similar situation, as these cars lean out a bit with the larger CAIs.

Makes sense but we were running almost identical times befoe the 93 CAI tunes. I do have the AFE StageII CAI (one of the larger ones) but a full 10th is a HUGE differance.
