I changed my CAI today from a generic BOMZ ebay kit to an LMI frankentake IV. Everything seemed good so I plugged in my predator tried to change my tune from a 91 oct cai tune to a 93 oct cai tune hoping it would take. The 93 seemed laggy and I was getting some audible knock. I immediatly reinstalled my 91/cai tune and I was still getting some audible knock. I backed off the throttle sensitivity from 10 to 0 and reinstalled. Still audible static/knock in spots at WOT. It is kinda chilly out today. My current setup includes 40 series flowmaster muffs, bt catch can, LMI frank IV, diablosport 91 oct cai tune with shifts firmed up. Pleez help

I was sure it needed it.. (more air, more fuel) but I wasn't sure how much to add. what would be a good starting point?

Since it is probably impossible to hear "audible knock" due to the computer system pulling timing prior to anything like that happening, I would check your installation of the Franentake and I bet you have something that you are hearing relative to something that is loose or banging around.
To be sure you don't have knock log for ST Knock Retard and confirm.

the intake is properly installed I double checked it all. I tied the breather down a little better but that wasn't the disturbance its a static like vibration from engine compartment. It Only does it under load, not @ free rev. please point me in the direction of some datalogging instructions...

logged ST knock retard @ 0.00 all the way through 1st gear the noise was still there but no reading
Re: RE: Re: RE: HELP! Changed my CAI now I
There, you answered your question, you are definately not hearing "knock". Something else is going on. Now what is different since your car was "normal"????greenmeanie wrote:logged ST knock retard @ 0.00 all the way through 1st gear the noise was still there but no reading

I have the exact same problem. I eliminated it by disabling the EGR through the predator. It only happens when I use my AFE Stage II intake. I put the stock airbox back on and it goes away.
