when i try to update to 9r20 on my 1 ss it says cant downgrade from 9r16 to 9r20?

I try 21b, but same DTC`s set as in 20 and 21a.
and "....No backup (-11)"

I flashed car back to 19 this works perfect.

Just got U7194 for my '10 2SS...updated to 9r21...read this thread...tried to figure out how to downgrade...but it looks like issues were already addressed...

Gonna flash the ecm tomorrow AM. It's my first time messing with auto firmware so I'm just a bit nervous. I've read the forums, manuals and stickys forwards and back....still nervous. Wish me luck!

make sure you start up and let the car run for a couple mins. before you just go and flash it in the morning... after a while, the ecm's go into a "sleep" mode... and if you try to install a tune, you'll get errors... you need to wake it up... heh...

so, before you go to install a tune, start up the car and let it run for a couple mins... then shut it off... then connect the tool, turn the key to ON position, and you'll be good to go...

Worked just like it should!
Got a nice long drive set for tomorrow so I'll see how she feels. 'around the block' test showed lots of improvement, but I can't wait to let the ltft settle in and fine tune it for real! I didn't pull the battery yet, do I really have to?

Holy $#!+!! What a difference! Still a little bit boggy when I stomp on it, but I'm thinking it may be a little rich...I'm planning on logging this weekend and adjust trims. Any other suggested modifications to the 93 Diablo tune? (other than the Lew tune...not yet anyway)

Part of the reason why the shifts in the stock vehicles are so soft is from the engine timing being pulled down. My truck at wot will drop to -8 degrees when shifting...so how wld you firm up shifting on engine side ....huh....

because, the timing table to pull that timing during the shift, is on the ecm/engine side of the tune file....

so, instead of pulling out timing, the table is adjusted to ADD timing... which in turn gives you firmer shifts... because now, it's not pulling out timing when the tranny goes to shift - it's adding some timing instead...

and it's a separate/different table - it's not the main engine timing table either...

it's actually a spark retard timing table...
