06 srt8 doesnt automatically shift when geared down

ok i dont know if it supposed to be the same but in my 07 rt magnum when i shift down it automatically shifts up at shift points why doesnt the srt8 do it??

What tune is on the car? If its in Autostick, it will not shift automatically if you have the tune set right. With the stock tune it will, unless you have a really old TCM program. The really old ones do not automatically shift when in Autostick mode, which is definitely preferrable to most of us..

Dealer has to update the TCM. The 06s had a TSB released for them quite a while ago.

The stock '06 SRT8 TCM program will NOT upshift automatically. TSB #21-020-06 is usually done to stop the lag some people complained about on the 1-2 shift (and it did), but it also provided an automatic upshift vs. the stock programming.

You can play with the Predator shift selections (I don't know which one works on the -06 because I have always had mine in "1") to get your car to either upshift automatically or hold the gear I believe regardless if you have the TSB done or not.

So the object here is to play with the modes to find out which one will hold the gear instead of upshifting automatically?
Didn't an earlieir Predator revision have a transmission adjust for "Auto-Upshift Disable".
I recently upgraded from 9r08 ro 9r12 before I got my CMR tune for my Stage 2 Upgrade.
I was distressed when it came to Dyno time because I could not disable Autoshift to get to 6500 RPM. I tried "Auto-Shift enable", "Stock" and "Mode 2". The best I got wss 6200 RPM Auto-Shift wiht "Raised Shift Points".
None of the choices would allow me to hold a gear till the eingine hit the RL (Rev Limiit) to get the higher rpm WOT numbers for the tuner.

If the modes are for performance under Auto-Shift, what happened to a simple "Auto-Upshift Disable" selection??????.

I could have sworn I used to have "Auto-Upshift Disable" and "Auto-Shift" then the Mode selections. Was that true with 9r08?
