Lew,

Thanks for the clarification. I guess there's a lot of different opinions out there in "online" land but it's best to get the real deal from the experts! :D

I am very pleased with my Predator so far!

Another question...

Adjusting Tire Size... Which tire size do I use, front (P245/45ZR17) or rear (P275/40ZR18)?

The Corvette's tire sizes are different between fron and back. About an inch difference on the diameter.

I went into options again and changed it back to Automatic and it gives me the error of 'not available for this engine/trans combo'... Any ideas from here? :)

Thank you very much for any assistance!
Have you gotten an answer yet?
If not, have you tried reinstalling the stock tune and starting over?
Who told you it would be a good idea to set the tranny to manual if you don't have one? Just wondering...
No, I have no answer yet. Still waiting since November 2010
Yes, I have tried everything, including emailing tunes and files in to Vas. They told me an update was required and that it was at the external engineer back in February.
They told me to put the predator in Manual mode to see if the options showed up on the device, not to install a tune with the manual trans selected.

Thanks for the questions, maybe I will be able to get this figured out soon :)

I attempted my first Log but was unable to run the analysis with DSLogRedux. I'll have to work on that a little more.

Anyway... I'm hoping you can take a peek at my Powerpoint file and tell me what data I could use for modifying my Diablo Tune parameters.

powerpoint?? it needs to be an excel .csv file, not powerpoint.. that's why dslogredux didn't work, hehe...

the powerpoint is useless....

when you have the data log open in the DataViewer program, then go to File - Export to CSV and save it as a .csv file to your PC...

That's what I didn't do... "Export to CSV".
I just "saved as .csv" and then opened it in DSLogRedux. Got the error message when I tried to "verify". Also I may not have had all the required log items.

The Powerpoint was just a screen print of the logging data from Dataviewer.

Thanks for the great tip!

I roughed in my LTFT after my first logging and felt another good boost in power. Ready to go for my second logging this weekend but have a question before doing so.

When I did my initial logging, I struggled to keep the engine RPM at 1500 in drive. I know that the ideal RPM should be at 1800.

Should I be running in 3rd gear to get my RPMs in the 1800 - 2000 range?

AFAIK, Scorpion, yes, any gear will do.
Do whatever is necessary to keep rpm 1800<->2000 and throttle around 25%. For me that works out cruising on highway @ 72mph or so. It may help to have someone in the passenger seat reading the display (I use a laptop but the handheld is fine) while you find the 'sweet spot' for your car. Try and find a spot where you can keep a nice, steady throttle with the rpm in range.

1500 is a little low to get a reliable log, and add 'engine speed'(rpm) to your log if you want to use dslogredux. (your .ppt shows no engine speed and throttle 16% to 2%)
Hope this helps.

BTW, out of curiosity, what speed does 1800rpm in drive net you??? Can't just nudge it up a bit on the highway?

Again, this is what I think I know...feel free to wait for verification, but I'm pretty sure of this.

Predator Tune - 2004 Corvette

Post by Scorpion »

Been super busy but I finally got my second Log done.

LTFT Bank1 = 1.28433%
LTFT Bank2 = 1.78461%

DSLogRedux recommends Injector Slope -2%

Gonna make some time and run my third Log soon.

That Custom Tune is getting closer and closer!!!

Sounds right! Don't forget to drive that -2 in for a few (30-50) miles before logging again...

Hey Lew!

I went in and adjusted my LTFTs but I need to confirm that I did it right.

After my first data logging, DSLogRedux suggested -4% so I modified my Diablo Tune LTFTs to -4%.

After my second data logging, DSLogRedux suggested another -2% so I modified my Diablo Tune LTFTs to -6% since the tool still showed the previous -4% adjustment.

Is this correct?
