Trinity - Synthesized Boost not working

Post by raffin »

I have a 2006 Charger SRT8 with a Magnacharger installed. Trinity has the most current update. It does monitor Baro and MAP PIDs, but the Synthesized Boost PID always reads zero (In monitor mode). The MAP PID does show increasing boost with increasing RPM and Baro minus MAP gives around the expected boost value. I currently have the following gauges configured on the dashboard: Intake Charge Temp, Baro, MAP, and Synthesized Boost.

What do I need to do to get it working?

Sure, what PIDs do I need to log?

Log MAP, BARO and RPM. Also, Make sure you have 1r08a of dcx_gas.

Here's a short log file. It includes RPM, BARO, and MAP among other PIDs.

According to the log, Synth Boost should show around 44 kPa max before MAP quickly drops off.

"Should" is the operative word here. It stays rock solid on 0.00. I did change it to read PSI instead of KPa, but I wouldn't think that would make any difference.

I'm on 1r08a. I tried to get the Trinity to update, but it isn't attempting to update when I run DSDL 2.2.2.6. The Trinity is registered and did download 1r08a when it was connected the first time. It is connecting to the computer properly.

OK brain fart on my part. I forgot to restore the original tune before updating. It's updated now and I'll see if the boost gauge works tomorrow.

I'm on 1r08c and the boost pid maxes out at 2.90. I set the range at 0-20. Any thoughts?

However when I go back and review the log in DataViewer I see Map and Baro are correct and doing the math the PSI is right. It's just like the display isn't showing it properly.

Also, any reason we can't have a "boost" pid on Data Viewer? Seems it'd be easy for that program to do the maths for us.

hmmm...question...what if you use a different type of gauge for the boost pid?

I'll try that and report back. Current gauge is a horizontal slider.
