Predator Install on 07 Charger SRT8 Help

Post by BigAl1 »

I purchased the Predator to install on my 07 Charger SRT8. From what I have been reading, everyone that did this install really noticed a difference. My install was the canned Performance 93 Oct. CAI tune. I have 93 Oct available and that is what the car is filled up with. It seemed like the install went well. Took the car out and really gave it to see what changed. I did not notice a real change or anything really that different at all. From what everyone is saying, the transmission is supposted to shift up and down through the gears better; instead of shifting prematurely and not down shifting quick enough. Guys were also saying that on hard acceleration the shift from first to second produced a chirp of the tires. Does any amount of ethanol in the gas affect the tune? Do yo think my install is in OK? Am I getting what I should out of this install right now? Should I re-install the factory settings and install a different tune. I just want to make sure I am getting the most out of the car with the current setup.

I have a BT Catch Can, 180 degree Thermostat, and CAI. Currently running 94 Oct. with some ethanol.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Al :?

You should have felt a major difference out of the gate. If I were you I would try reverting back to stock then reload the 93 Octane w/CAI tune. Did you clear the TCM Adaption in Quick Settings? If not, make sure to do that every time you install a new tune to clear your driving habits and timing of the old tune. I have a 2008 Charger SRT8 with Airraid CAI, Catch Can, stock thermo, and I run the Predator ver 9r28 with the 93 Oct tune w/CAI, raised shift points and rev limiter, set the axle ratio to stock 3.06, set the rear tire size 255 55 20, throttle boost set to +20%, and changed auto-upshift to mode 3 and I feel a major difference.
