Now that I can log data......
Moderator: mikel
I can help you out with the datalogging issue. I will try to get everything on here and post it tomorrow. Trust me, at first it is confusing, but once you get going it is pretty simple. Two things so far, my AFR PID is named Open Loop FA, timing is measured by the spark of each cylinder, and I cant remember about the KR. I will post more tomorrow.

Assuming you have the 3.1.5.0 DataViewer - some of the acronyms have been tweaked.

Right now the PIDs I have been keeping an eye on are Ambient Temp, Engine Coolant Temp, IN MAN AIR TEMP, IN MAN GAS TEMP, Battery Volt, Oil Pressure Sensor PSI, TOTAL COIL DWELL 1 and 2, Actual Spark Cyl 1, Base Spark, Ignition Cycle Count(honestly do not know why I am watching this one), Barometric Pressure, Intake Air Temp Deg, Manifold Air Pressure, OPEN LOOP FA, KNK FUEL RETARD, KNK LT RETARD, KNK ST RETARD, KNK WOT FA MUL, Engine Speed, Vehicle Speed, and Accelerator Pedal Position. From thses I can see a lot of what is happening with the car. I do hae some more homework on this to do myself, but it is a start.

Thanks this should give me a good start to see where the car is at.bacafrog wrote:Right now the PIDs I have been keeping an eye on are Ambient Temp, Engine Coolant Temp, IN MAN AIR TEMP, IN MAN GAS TEMP, Battery Volt, Oil Pressure Sensor PSI, TOTAL COIL DWELL 1 and 2, Actual Spark Cyl 1, Base Spark, Ignition Cycle Count(honestly do not know why I am watching this one), Barometric Pressure, Intake Air Temp Deg, Manifold Air Pressure, OPEN LOOP FA, KNK FUEL RETARD, KNK LT RETARD, KNK ST RETARD, KNK WOT FA MUL, Engine Speed, Vehicle Speed, and Accelerator Pedal Position. Any idea on the a/f as to what the ideal fuel mixture should read?
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Found a Viewer Link
12.8 is supposedly the sweet spot, but the problem you will have is that our sensors are not widebands and there for are not giving you accurate A/F readings. Some of those who have the widebands have reported a +/- of 1. If the car is stock or pretty close to that you should be pretty accurate, but if you have added an exhaust or intake you could be off a little bit. Also, when you are watching the OPEN LOOP FA PID you will see it sitting at 14.4 until the system actually goes intp open loop mode. Usually it will not go into this mode until the throttle is wide open. Sometimes I have seen it be at 30 to 70 percent and the systme goes into OPEN LOOP mode. Hope this helps.

Actually, these Hemis, in our testing, liked to be in the low 12:1 range for peak power.bacafrog wrote:12.8 is supposedly the sweet spot, .

Can you just change out the sensors for widebands? Or will it mess with the computer at all. would it even do anything.

Thanks for catching that, I was going off memory and not looking at my notes. Between all the thread and forums I have been reading and learning from I have a hard time remembering.Actually, these Hemis, in our testing, liked to be in the low 12:1 range for peak power.
I believe some people are using Innovative Motorsports. You can Google it and learn a lot more that way. I have yet to do it, so I can not tell you the results. I believe that you can not just change out the sensor. You actually have to tap into the exhaust and it has a different device that reads the info to you. Some of the companys have a way for the info to be incorprated with the info from the Predator if I remember correctly. Can you just change out the sensors for widebands? Or will it mess with the computer at all.
