Hello,
I noticed in one of the oter post you called the Puck more of a fuel box then a timing box for a 98 cummins. I have a 04.5 cummins and I am interested in getting a mild torque improvement chip. I have installed a free flowing muffler and AFE air cleaner and torque tube. Also have full gauges, (boost + egt). Mainly use the truck for towing, so just looking for a little extra and I like the chips that I can turn off when I don't want to have to worry about watching gauges. My questins is; is the puck for the 04.5 just a fuel box, or is also advancing the timing? Will it increase EGTs? I am already able to hit 1400 deg F stock, on long pulls. Will there be any trace of the chip left in the ECM after removed (over boost code, etc)?

Re: 04.5 Puck Questions
The 04.5 puck is like a fuel box it does add 60hp and 90hp settings. A personal friend of mine has the same truck who uses this same puck and has not had any problems with it. It tows great. EGT are in normal ranges with these power increases. You will like the power increases that the puck gives you. Now the 03-05 Predator has other tunes that are even more in detail which do timing and fuel adjustments through the PCM. These are a little bit smoother tunes since we can do more with the PCMs parameters. But both products work great.cringb wrote:Hello,

That's great, but will the chip leave any trace after it is removed from the ECM?

No, there will be no trace of the chip once removed.
