long term fuel trim

can anyone explain what i am looking at when i moniter the long term fuel trim? its a percent of something, the way ive set my tune up it shows a negative to a positive number. if you can help i would like to know it is im looking at

its how much fuel the pcm is adding or removing from the commanded fueling to achieve 14.7:1 AFR.
