08 ford 6.4 with PDF delete kit installed.
Well guys i did it. i bit the bullet and bought the Gearbox programmer that went with the PDF delet pipe . after i installed the program to stop the regen i installed the cat back pipe. which deleted the cat converter and the PDF . once i did that i installed the preditor program for economy and OH MY GOSH. its like night and day difference. My milage went from 13 to 18 running 75 on the interstate. and you talking about black smoke . if you dont want any you want have any , but if you want some just stomp it to the floor. I was amazed at how much the PDF was restricting the motor. at first it smoked all the time but after a day it cleared up and didnt smoke at all. i also have the banks cold air intake on the truck. but other than that its all stock. so guys if yiou can i would suggest buy the PDF KIT and stack your preditor on top it. It works like a charm. it took about an hour and 1/2 to pull the old pipe off and install the new. but remember to keep the old incase you ever sell the truck.. i will say my first programmer from gearbox didnt work, but they shipped me a new one the next morning. Now thats what you call customer service.

checking the speed this weekend i can run 1500 RPM crusing at 55 mph. but bad news. on the way home i noticed the truck started to buck a little. so i punched it and it wouldn't go over 2000 RMP. Usually i can do that and it will leave a bunch of black smoke behind. Not sure whats going on. On the way home i had to drive up an incline and as long as i don't go over 1800 RPM's it ran fine but as soon as the incline got steeper it went to bogging again. i hope the fuel filters are plugged and just need to be change. I sure hate to have to put the exhaust back togeather to take it to a ford dealer. Anyone have any ideal on what it may be. I drove it home an parked it in the back yard.
How many miles on truck, have you ever changed fuel filters. There is one located on frame rail around drivers door at electric transfer pump. Only suppose to have 8 to 10 psi transfer pressure to supply HPCR for injectors. Common rail pressure 3000 psi and higher. What was your boost pressure, should stay around 10 to 12 psi with load at 2000 rpm's. Will go to almost 40 when you mat it. You can check almost every sensor on the engine with the diablo. When you matted the throttle did transmission down shift. I have been having a problem with that new test crom with transmission staying in overdrive not downshifting at correct rpm and lugging engine. Put stock tune back in and try truck again.

changed filters probally 30,000 ago. i have 120,000 on it now. It would not shift gears when i floored it, just bogged down. and I noticed when i floored it no smoke came from the exhaust. If i was running 1500 RPM's and punched it a puff of black smoke would come out and then no smoke as it started to bogg down. im planning on changing the oil and fuel filters friday and hope thats the problem.

latesed update. I have two codes. P0088 Fuel rail/system too high and P1000 ODB system test incomplete. i have reset the codes a couple of times but they still come back. Reading on the net several people blame it on the weather, while others blame it on the rail sensor. can anyone telll me where the fuel sensor is located and is it something an average mechnic like my self can change. if not ill have to put the stock exhaust back on to take to the ford dealer. When it doe's go in limp mode (as its called) i can cycle the key once and it works for a while. One thing i have discovered, if the cruse control works, everything is fine. But if i try and use the cruise and it doesn't work i know I'm in the bucking mode. So this tells me it has something to do with the computer, i think. HELP.

if the Pump was bad why would i get a high pressure code. if i cycle the key it runs fine. So why does the cruise control work and the truck runs fine but if i try and use the cruise and it doest work then i know im in the limp mode. one thing i have noticed is if the cruise control is on it never drops out in to the limp mode. could it be a bad pressure sensor and when the onboard computer runs its test and finds the bad pressure sensor it puts the truck in limp mode. ????????
