I tryed to run a programer on my 2007 Chevy VMax today and now its basically dead in the water. Door locks clicking, underscore below the park in my shift indicator flashes and it shows that a horsepower limited message. It didnt have an option to return to stock so I assume the program didnt take or it just lost it.
I just got it out of the local dealership 2 months ago where they put a new engine in it and of course they tried not to warranty it because of the programer. Could they program the truck to recognize the hack and go into a "safe mode" so to speak?
The sad thing is that tomorrow is the only day I have to go to Arkansas and practice for a Divisional Championship tournament and now it doesnt look good. Guess my season is over.
Can the manufacturer lock your programer out?

No they can't program that. Your tuner could be locked though if they flashed the computer while it had a tune in it. Always need to return the ECU to stock before bringing it to the dealer.
