2000 up silverado ?

Does any1 know the reason that the motor stops pulling at around 100 miles per hour? lol not that I need to go faster than that in a 7ooolb truck, but iv noticed this on a few silverados. I thot b4 that it had something to do with torque management. but I turned that off and its the same thing.Any comments on this? Im sure there's power to spare at 4000RPM at a 100MPH lol.
