How do I transfer my stock tune to my pc
I'm a newbie here guys so be gentle. I've purchased a predator u7137 for my 09 Ram. It took me all weekend to figure out how to update to version v.9r12 Now that is done. I think that I have now copied my vehicles information
to the tool, My question is, how do I tranfer to original back up to my pc.
I wish they would make these things more user friendly. I'm a trades person not an IT tech.

I did that, and when I clicked on get tune from tool, a screen popped up and I could see my vehicles information, I then highlighted that info, a few seconds later a message popped up and said backup could not be found.???
RE: How do I transfer my stock tune to my pc
did you install one of the performance tunes to your truck first? need to do that so that the predator saves a copy of the original backup in it...
then:
Connect your Predator/Trinity to your PC and power it up, and then run the DSDownloader program.
Once you open DSDownloader, click "Options" and make sure there is a check mark next to "Auto Connect".
Once Auto Connect is enabled, the DSDL will search for and find your Predator/Trinity on its assigned COM port.
Once it finds your Predator/Trinity, you will be taken to the Express Tune page. From the Express Tune page, click "Get tune file from Tool".
The DSDownloader will then popup a new window with two choices - Original Backup and Last Tune Written. Click on ORIGINAL BACKUP once to select/highlight it, and then click OK to save it to a location of your choosing on your PC.
Your "Original Backup" tune file is now saved to your PC.

I did just that and it worked !! Great, thank you for your help. I have installed the 87 tune for now. I'm going to take baby steps till I get the hang of this thing. I think I might be making this a bit more complicated then what it really is. I'll post my results in a couple days.
