2005 Muastnag GT, 5 spd manual, corrected rear axle ratio: around 3:73, K&N CAI, Mac Cat Back exhaust. Made the tuning tweaks about a year ago, put 18K miles on the car with this tune. It runs fantastic still gets good MPG and between 4200 and 6500 RPM pulls like a mad dog. I've been told I am crazy to modify the tune without Data Logging and sending it to you....I've played with old school muscle car tuning, my Harley's, my 01 GT with no adverse affects and some decent horsepower.
Your thought on this:
Global Spark + 2 degrees
Spark 2-4000 + 1.5
Spark 4-7000 + 3.5
Wide Open Throttle + 3.0
WOT Spark Advance + 4.0
Fuel 2-4000 + 2
Fuel 4-7000 + 4
Rev Limiter 6846 (shift points in 1st gear 5800, 3rd to fifth 6500
Thanks for any input!

RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
No way.
You are adding 5.5* of spark (2* global+3.5 more at WOT) from 4-7K, over what we already added in the tune.
There is no way the engine is happy with that unless you have made some serious combustion changes.

RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
Thanks for the advice Mikel. I will immediately adjust the tune. Should probably back down on fuel as well, I imagine. Is there any info on what adjustments your various make over the the factory tune? With the tune above I have never have any detonation at all. Is that due to the detontation/PCM backing off timing to keep it safe. Requested Diablo tune info could be sent to my private email address at [email protected].
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
The K&N cai requires about 5% of additional fuel at WOT to correct the WOT a/f. As for the timing you shouldnt mess with it over the octane rated tune you have.
And shift around 6100-6300 rpms.

RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
Thanks Mikel! and those are around my normal max shift points, usually around 6200. Would I be be correct inassuming if I were to use the K&N tune the fuel adjustment would be taken care of 5% at WOT would be handled by the tune?
Thanks Again,

Yes, the K&N tune is set up to add the proper amount of fuel.

RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
how do i get a canned tune or better yet what is it.i have a u7153 2001 f150 5.4,6in lift 325/65/18. k&n air intake with 2.5 full exhaust with flowmaster 44 exctel coils i have already did rev per mile for the tires i would like to tune it for rest of the little stuff thanks
RE: Question regarding my custom tuning on the the K&N T
And I did back off on my Global tuning from 4 to 2, and then raised the 4-7K a 1/2 point....I know everyone tells me I am crazy, but thhis 05 GT likes this tune and I have been running it for 40 thousand miles-temps from 40 to 105 degrees-no problems.....and runs just fabulous for a NA engined with bolt-ons.....when I move it back to the standard K&N FIPK tune for example, it runs like a dog....put in my tune and brings it back to life...pulls way strong through 6200.....I may pay for it someday, but it sure does run sweet......
