2005 Ram - Screwed Up Computer and Horrible Customer Service

Post by jdykes84 »

Trinity serial # 6JUNEC2
Part: dcx_gas
Version: v.1r08b
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi Laramie Quad Cab 4x4

When I first got this product it said I needed to update my vehicle tune, which a rep from diablosport kindly helped me do from the website. Upon my first tune of the 91 Octane tune my cruise control went crazy and my gas mileage went great. Thing was this messed up my computer somehow to read my speed was reading faster than I was going, resulting in unaccurate gas mileage and a cruise control that realized there was an issue (it began shutting off, whether or not it was set the second my truck went over 65). After several months of back and forth emails with Devon Morante they gave me a special tune to try. This messed my truck up even more, causing my cruise not to work over 40 and now my speedometer reads slower than I am going, showing that my mpg is crazy low. I am sure that this isn't actually messing with my mpg, it is all electronic and based on how fast it "thinks" I am going. However, after about 6 months now, devon morante basically just decided he didnt know what was happening and through me to the birds. I want this fixed or would like my money back... my local dodge dealer wants about $100 to put my computer back to stock so that I can get my cruise back again and a proper speedometer reading! But as it appears, Devon wants to hear none of this. If anyone is having/had this issue or wants more information on this horrible customer service, please feel free to call me at 803-394-9208 or email me at [email protected].

I just really want this fixed, and although I would prefer the tunes to get the proper performance out of my truck, I will go to stock just to have my computer right!

Joe,

First, sorry you are having so much trouble. We have not had any issues with this on other Rams. Im not up to date with what you and Devin did, but let me see if I can help you out.

1. We can return you truck back to stock at anythime, you dont have to pay for it.
2. can you send me a copy of the last tune written (whats in your truck now) so I can have the Dodge tuner take a look at it.
3. Can you give me a call, I want to do a calibration update on your truck and lets see if this fixes the issue.

WOW this sounds familiar. I just installed the 93 tune from my U7137 into my 05 ram 1500 and my cruise control does not function at speeds over 65 mph. In fact I can turn it on below 60 mph and see the cruse sign light up on the dash then speed up and watch it shut off once I hit about 65 mph. I’m not however having any problems the speedo. If there is a fix for this I would sure like to know where I could get it, I miss my CC.

Long story short try using the tire numbers (ie 275 x 45 x 20) instead of the overall hight. I did and it fixed my problems. I now have cruise control to over 90mph.
