2004 Dodge Ram Unable to get calibration id TCM??

A friend of mine got his new Predator U7137 in yesterday for his 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi. I go to install the tune for him and it tells me "Unable to get calibration id TCM" Seems like the tuner isnt recognizing his TCM. I took the tuner and tried it on my dads 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi and get the same message. So I put it on MY 2008 Dodge Ram Hemi and the tune recognizes my computer, etc.

The predator is updated with the latest crom 9r12 and has the calibration update. Is there a fix to get the tuner to recognize his TCM ID or is there anyway I can tune it without TCM modifications? It wont give me the option to JUST tune the PCM. Thanks for any help!

Hmm...it should let you do just the PCM if it cant find the TCM.

Please post the calid so we can look into this tomorrow.

Mike, how can I pull the calibration ID? The tuner just gives me this message"Unable to get calibration id TCM. Please make sure key is in ON position" It tells me that when I go to the "show calibration id" option. Also tells me that when I try to read the VIN and read any DTCs. After the message it tells you to "unplug the tool and try again"

When I try the performance tune option, it gives me the same message. Wont let me past the message

Whats also weird, for some reason, I can use MY predator handheld and can get the calibration id from both my friends 2004 Ram and my dads 2005 Ram. Tells me TCM(unsupported) on MY handheld, but with the new handheld my friend got in for his truck, it doesnt show any of that. Both tuners have same CROM and calibration updates.

Mike, what im thinking is, this new tuner is not seeing the "Key On" signal in both my friends 2004 Ram and my dads 2005 Ram. When I plug the tuner into MY 2008 Ram, everything works.

Alright Mike, I was able to get the calibration ids for both the 2004 and 2005 Ram.

is your dad's '05 Ram Diablo tuned? I thought the supported '05 calibration ended in "AI", not "AH".

when I first Diablo tuned my '05 Ram, I got the "needs update" message, and PCM cal# after calibration update is 56028958AI

No truck is bone stock. Actually both (04/05) computers PLUS the computer on my 08 Ram end in AF according to the stickers on the PCMs. When I plug MY diablo handheld into all 3 and go to "Show calibration ID" they all have the same numbers but AH after them instead of AF as listed on the PCM case.

AF on the PCM case would be the original factory cal, and AH would be a Dealer update flash cal.

Hey Mike, what direction are we going with this? He's on the edge of sending it back to where he got it from. Im trying to convince him to keep it since I love my Predator
