It all depends on what backup tune is saved back into the Predator and how that file looks when loaded back into the car. If it is exactly the same revision file with matching numbers that goes back on then no they will not. But only if the file revision numbers are the original that came with the car or last updated by DCX themselves.

However, if the backup file revision going back into the PCM is based on the latest revision from Diablo/DCX then these details could differ to what you originally had and that DCX has filed. From this they can easily determine that something has been done/chaged. Now they shouldn't be able to tell what had been done to the PCM when connected to their own scan tools but as I mentioned they will definitely know someone has updated/chaged on your car. At first they probably wouldn't dig too much into it however get a few in like this and they will start digging. There is also little chance that DCX hasn't already seen this new tool and are well aware of it.

How would they know what revision you should have or not though? From factory every part number and software version for your particular car is saved against the VIN number of your car and stored at a DCX centralised server for all Chryslers world wide.

As for updated PCM revisions these generally only occur when new PCM's are released on new model. Therefore this is not an update or servicing schedule required to be carried out by DCX especially since there is there is nothing wrong it in the first place. The only time reflashing or updating to the latest revision will occur is when there is a problem with the unit or a TSB released.

So if the revisions do differ when going back to a stock tune, this is where it could get interesting. Any serviicing or repair work carried out by DCX dealerships/service is automatically logged via their scanning tools (OBDII Port) which shows dates/times/all repairs/updates/TSB's/services/distance travelled/everything etc etc etc against the VIN number of your car. The data is then simply uploaded into DCX server and if the need arose down the track that info on previous work was required, you would simply log in from the comfort of your desk, type in the VIN number of the car in question and up everything comes. Chrysler dealership or service department anywhere in the world can perform this search on any Chrysler in the world from comfort of their desk as well providing they have a corresponding VIN number.

I would also be interested to know.

I looked at my custom tune on my 06 Magnum SRT8 with heads and cam using my StarMobile (same tool the dealer uses) and could not detect faults or see the tune. So unless the tech knows how your car should run, he won't know... Unless you have a bad tune installed and then he flashes your PCM to try to fix it.

It looks the same as the stock flash. A really good tech could figure it out if he monitored the right parameters long enough, but most techs aren't that good, nor do they have the time.

There's nothing that comes up right away to indicate a modification. I think on mine, the high idle would be a tip off, however. If I drop the idle to stock, then the lumpy idle would be a tip off!
