wow still no help, whats it take to get someone with some knowledge to try and help me out? Even try to troubleshoot a few things? New fuel filter in yesterday, no difference. I've been pretty patient so far, this is making me want to sell this paper weight and buy a Smarty.

It kinda sounds like your not getting any air. check to see if theres somthing in the intake that is somehow lodged somewhere inbetween the turbo and the engine!? :?

maybe your truck has that brazialian sofware thing,i read that some trucks with the software had issues with tuners, mostly bullydog but others complained too,if you can try another tuner like a buly dog or somthing, some auto places will give you a free demo tune or borow one from a freind, its hard to help with your problem because no one has really complained about the power of these things,

You sure the clutch is not slipping?? I will tell u what I have seen 03 with the Ho and auto, put it on extreme and played with it. If i nailed it from a stop the tach would go to 2500-2800 and sit there till the truck can catch up to the converter. Its making so much power I cant put it to the ground. 2nd thing at 1600 if I rolled into it hard with the converter locked up it would slip the converter clutch. I put it back on performance and it has a little more power then stock, very little black smoke, good mpg gain no slipping. But the converter still wont put it to the ground.

Now I know yours is a manual, but my car did allot of the same thing u are talking about when i upgraded the turbo's. Felt slower, the clutch was slipping the whole time, I figured it out by doing some roll on's in 5th gear around peak tq. First slow and would note the rpm vs mph, then I did it again at wot and would not the rpm vs mph. I was data logging so made it easy but the clutch was slipping the whole time. When I pulled the clutch out it was crispy. Remember the higher the gear the more the clutch will slip and will seem smooth not like a launch slip. Just something to try.

If you are seeing 37psi of boost then obviously the predator is doing its job, maybe you forgot to release your parking brake...lol

I have to chime in on this. I don't think its a case of expecting too much. I think either the truck or the tuner has an issue. I say that because when I installed the performance/economy tune, my reaction was, "Holy S#*t!!!" And when I towed my 9800 lb. toyhauler with the tow tune installed, I was in love. In my own experience I think the Predator is a great product. Many people I talked to tried to push the Edge or Bullydog tuners but since I'm a cheap bastard, I went with the puck/predator stack and I'm performing as well or better. I have yet to compare to a Cummins with those tuners though. I have heard that the Cummins can be tuned better (more power and torque) than a Duramax or Powerstroke.

Wow, I really started rambling. Sorry y'all...

my point was if it had been apart and a rag or somthing got in there it would build boost, but would not be able to get to the engine!

I don't want to start an argument here, but I'm in agreement with spooling. I have tried my predator on both my personal truck (05 reg cab auto) and my work truck (05 quad cab dually) and I just don't feel (key word - FEEL) the power that is supposed to be there. Both trucks have a Cold air intake (Airraid- Mine, and AEM Workhorse - Work) and 5" exhaust through a donaldson 51" muffler (no breathing problems), and quadzilla commanders to monitor functions. Mine has an in-line lift pump and tranny mods while the work one has the stock 48re and lift pump. My truck has 16K miles and the work truck has 40K. So they are not old and beat up.
Actually, the best performance that I have seen out of my predator was on the performance tune. I have tried all available tunes on the r29 update (extreme, extreme rkl, extreme rkl puff, etc).
The problem is that I also have a quadzilla XZT module, quadzilla xzillerator standard, bullydog triple dog, and had at one point an edge Juice/Attitude.
From what I have experienced, these other modules made both trucks feel stronger than the predator. It is as spooling says, both my trucks feel almost stock with the predator. I was especially disappointed when I tried the extreme rkl puff tunes.
Once again, I do all my comparisons by feel. I do not have or have access to a dyno.
On a seperate note - I bought my predator/puck bundle based on the great comments everyone was making about them at the time on DTR's forums. I heard good things about the performance and great things about the service in the forums. What happened to that?

The Hemi project happened..........

I still love the power my Predator makes and there is no way you would not feel the power if yours were working properly.....

I would strongly urge anyone that doubts the power gains in their Cummins to get to a dyno, as the power is most certainly there.

Well just had my truck in the shop, expensive little trip that told me everything is ok. They did a boost and fuel leak test and everything is good. Injectors are good as well. This is a well known shop here in Calgary http://www.dieselperformance.ca/index.html

Anyways I installed the try before you buy tune from Bully Dog, and it feels like about the same power I was making on Extreme. And runs much better with less smoke. Obviously something is wrong with my unit. I would like to return this unit or exchange it for another unit. Some support from Diablo would be appreciated to make this process easier. I purchased this unit from Mopac Calgary http://www.mopacautosupply.com/

Would love to hear from Diablo about what to do next!

Diablosport Support

Hey mikel,

The power that the Predator makes is unmistakable. These guys that aren't feeling the power CLEARLY have a problem. Instead of just telling them to go have their trucks dyno'ed, you guys at Diablosport should really look into the problems and help them come up with a solution.

I absolutely love my Predator/Puck stack, but I'm starting to see their point about the customer service.

And since I'm here, I have a question myself; what is the difference between the Powerpuck and the "Predator Performance Module?" I ordered the powerpuck but I got the square module instead.

For you guys having problems. I feel for ya. My Predator thoroughly impressed me from the second I installed it. I refuse to upgrade the version for fear of losing any of the performance. I do have one issue though; No matter what I try, I cannot get the tire size modification to take hold. I will gladly sacrifice that minor glitch for the power and torque my truck is producing.

If any of you are in the SLC, Utah area and would like to get a feel for what the predator can do, I'd be glad to "show off."

well first off i would say go where you bought it from and try another unit,i tried 3 pucks to find out my 04 needed a puck for an 05 to work, the place i bought it from was more than happy to try diferent stuff to keep a customer, diablo is like 3k miles away from you and without seeing your truck in person what do you expect them to do  if the place you bought from doesnt help you then maybe see if diablo will get you another unit.but im sure your place will give you another one and if you have the same problem then its not the product, some trucks react diferently to some tuners, some trucks didnt work well with the smarty iether.

Yes, like Dave said, please contact Mopac and ask them to replace the tool for you.
Please be sure to restore the backup first.
