Just bought a predator

It was used but I was told it had been set back to factory specs and old vehicle info removed.

My question is this. When I plug it into my truck(1999 F250 7.3), The menu screen on the handheld will not light up. Could this be because the last vehicle was not removed properly, or do I have an issue with my port?

Or could the only answer be, The handheld unit is bad?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Check your cigarette lighter fuse.

Is this unit suppose to have an adapter that plugs into the cigerette lighter? I thought it recieved power when you plugged it in to the port under the dash.

The cigerette lighter fuse is also the fuse for the OBD II port on your vehicle. Please check the fuse to see if its blown.
