No Complaints

Post by ubreathe »

I was reading all the posts after buying the predator for my '07 Silverado classic duramax 6.6 and the allison 6 speed transmission. All of them were negative or had some complaint. I was almost afraid to load the tune. I loaded the 65 hp tune and it went very smoothly. The truck ran fine and seems to have more power. I do not have boost or exhaust temp guages, so I will not try higher power tunes. My question is about the shift between 4th and 5th gear seems premature, it does however do better in tow mode. Is there a fix in the works for this?. I also figured out that the odometer was about 15/16 of a mile for each mile recorded. I changed my tire size and now go about 10 feet past the mile mark to reach a mile (Making tire size smaller in the tune and leaving the real tires the same makes the truck travel farther for each recorded mile.) Could I tweak the odometer a little closer by changing the gear ratio? If so would I make the gear ratio higher or lower? So far I'm pretty happy. Any other happy people out there?
Thanks

I would tweak the odometer using the aspect ratio of the tire size for small changes.
As for the 4-5 shift, that is controlled by the TCM for the Allison, and the Predator does not communicate with it, but it is adaptive, so give it some time, and it should figure out what you like.
