Vehicle: 2006 Dodge Charter R/T 5.7
Item: Trinity r06 to r08
Just a question. I ordered the trinity as soon as it came out. I had been running the r06 firmware for a couple of years with no issues. Just two days ago I decided to update the firmware to r08 which caused it to render itself unusable by doing this "an internal update has been applied, please recycle power" loop. No matter how many times I cycle the power, it still displays that message upon power-up.
I've left it off overnight and still not resolved..
Now, my question.. Why, when I tried to update your trinity product, using the cable you provided, the software you wrote from your own website, using the r08 firmware that you also wrote, which rendered the device unusable, would I need to pay $100 (plus obvious shipping which I can understand) for you to fix it? It's obviously the update that broke it.
According to the internet (plus this forum) I'm not the only person that had their unit "bricked" with the r08 update. Just curious.

RE: Trinity RMA Question
Have you tried to log in and connect your Trinity again to see if it would re- update itself, through DSDownloader... maybe the file/files got corrrupted during the download/install.
If that does not work try calling the techsupport line.... which may be harder to reach this week as the SEMA show is running and they are mostly there. 877-396-6614 or 561-908-0040

RE: Trinity RMA Question
Thanks for your reply. I had spoken to tech support on Friday via the phone. We went through a series of troubleshooting steps.
When I downloaded the latest DSDownloader and connected the Trinity, it automatically went through updates which took about 15 minutes. It then took me through the Vehicle Selection Process where I told it which vehicle I had. Once I selected the vehicle, the screen flashed a "New Registry" message and then presented the "internal update blah blah blah" message.
When I hook it to my car, it wont even turn on. If I hook it to my laptop, the laptop makes a sounds as if it recognizes a device has been connected however the DSDownloader no longer see's the trinity. The tech told me to leave it unplugged overnight and if it still didn't work, to submit the RMA form.
This is where I was a little miffed when I saw a $100+shipping fee. I can understand the shipping but I don't understand the $100.

RE: Trinity RMA Question
I`d be miffed also.. I don`t think there is actually any charge for warrenty work/shipping in this case as the Trinity carries a 2 year warrenty for the original buyer. I could be wrong but I doubt it! Call them again to be sure.

RE: Trinity RMA Question
If it is under warranty you won't have to pay anything.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!
"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.
