Problem Logging Wideband with Trinity on DV 3.3.0.8

Post by bstock1990 »

Hello I called the tech support and no one was able to help me out with my issue and he advised me to post on the forum

I have a brand new Trinity with the latest Crom and the latest Dataviewer version.
Im using an LC-1 Wideband which is installed on the Analog Channel 1 on the Trinity and it is reading perfectly on the unit itself.

When I open the Dataviewer and try to add the parameter on my dash to log it, I select in the external section it only shows "Analog input 2" along with the default parameters battery voltage ,egt,DCX power puck,etc..
And the last parameter on the list comes up as "UNKNOWN "if I chose it,it does add the gauge in my current dashboard but it doesnt move but it reads a value of 7.35 which is the minimum value I entered on the trinity to read Air Fuel Ratio Reading..
If I import a log from the tool onto the Dataviewer the Analog doesnt even show up at all not even in the external section..

tried reloading the Tool ,PC,Dataviewer many times but no luck

Please help

Make sure you have setup units for analog input when creating it in the Trinity. Also make sure you create a new analog input in the Trinity, and don't modify an existing one.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

Ok Somehow I got Analog 1 to show up in the external list ..
I can log it with the DV but instead of showing me A/F ratio readings which is the way I configured in the Trinity Its showing me the value in Volts..???

And If import the log from the Trinity and try to play it on the DV
The external list doesnt come up..

Analog 1 & 2 should always show up in DV. IF AFR input were configured properly, it will also show up under External.

Do the following:
- Select Options->Analog Input Conf->Reset all to defaults
- Add A new Parameter
- Add "AFR" for Name
- Select channel
- Set Range upper and lower bound (I think LC-1 is high="22.389999" low="7.350000")
- Set Desired units (don't leave blank. enter something)
- DON'T DELETE any other parameters.

I'm not 100% on the upper/lower bound for LC-1 AFR, but I'm sure I've answered somewhere in the forums before. This should at least get AFR livestreaming with DV going.

Ok from the following info you gave me I was able to log A/F on the trinity and play them back with the correct value on the DV

But if I try to log from the Dataviewer it only gives me Analog 1 and it comes up as volts when I log...

but at least I can log from the unit..

Thanks a bunch Jim!!!!!

On DV try File->Re Query Vehicle info while Trinity is attached to both PCM and PC/Laptop. Might need to also "double-click" the External sub tree in DV.

I'm running into a similar problem with my analog input and the dataviewer. Will leaving the units blank cause dataviewer not to show my external data? There is no drop-down/tree under the 'External' tab.

I'm running the trinity crom 1r08 and dataviewer 3.3.0.11

thank you
