Programming Progressive shift light

Post by Darkside323 »

Hello everyone quick question on an idea I have: So I have an 07 GT 500 and a Trinity. I am using the K&N 91 tune and have my shift light set up to progressive. The shift light comes on at over 5000 RPMs and ends at (IIRC) at about 6000. Really fast....
I would like my shift light to come earlier lets say at about 2000 RPM for the first LED and light up progressively every 1000 RPM until 6000 and then all flash. Is this possible? I would like to create this scenario so that when I'm the track I have a better idea when I'm in my powerband.

Also how do I program a rev limiter so that the rev's do not fly past my desired red line?

Can I do these things on my own or would I have to take it to a tuner to get programmed?

Thank you very much for your time.

The progressive shift light starts 500 rpm before your set point, it will always come up quicker in the lower gears due to the rate of acceleration.

You can set the rev limiter anywhere you want, but it should usually be a few hundred rpm higher than your shift point.

So is there is any way to CHANGE where (in the rpm band)the Progressive shift light starts to light up? (let's say 2000 rpm) I would like to spread out the range of the shift light. Can this be changed by an authorized Diablo tuner?

The reason why I would like to do this is because I am starting to Road Race and would like a quicker way of knowing my RPM's.

No, it is a fixed setting within the tool, not part of the tune.

Ok thank you. One more question. On the Rev limiter I went into the tune and clicked Modify. There are three Rev limiters. Do I need to change all three to the limit I want or only one of them. Thanks again

Are there any plans in the future to change the way the progressive shift light works in order to make it more open track friendly? Oh yeah we also met at SEMA just want to say Hello again. Thanks for all your help.

No, I dont think so, it was a lot of work to get it to where it is now...plus, ideally, you'd want it to start sooner in lower gears, and start later in higher gears, and thats just not feasible...
