Well at least your truthfull. I ended up selling the dsp to go with the sct/prp for my srt-4. At least the dsp holds it value.
You really needed to keep the DSP for datalogging. Its the best available

What is the acronym ROI?

Glad I found this part of the diablo forum. There is way to much whining on this thread. Either someone will buy the software and learn it, or blow thier motor learning it, and quit. I don't blame you guys for not offering it out to the single user. If someone wants it bad enough they'll pay the dollars, for it and have the ability to do others as well. Only thing I ask and wonder is, when a customer buys your software, if they do have questions will you be able to assist and / or give some suggestions to that person. or will they be left stranded on an island?

Also why is there in general, ALOT more tuning help and info for GM, and ford crowd than there is for DCX? Is it that DCX is still so new to tuning? I know this can't be the case as it's been out for about 3 years now, I know I got the first Gen predator for my charger. Or is it if someone knows how to tune GM and ford they should be able to take that knowlege and apply it to DCX?

And you are right, most DCX guys do not mind at all in paying for a good tune. You get what you pay for, and that crowd wants a SAFE, good running tune not some sloppy hand tune, that you end up paying to get redone over and over again spending more money than you would have had you just done it right the first time.

I appreciate all the help even though sometimes it's vague and only a a small bit helpfull. But the more I read, research and learn the more confidant I get in what I'm doing.

Thanks

I sure wish Diablo Sport would realease an end user CMR product now! SCT has the "pro racer" product and I'm thinking of ditching my preditor for it, but if Diablosport steps up to the plate......

Hmmm it's not only SCT, but Tweecer as well. I don't understand why Diablo can't do the same thing. Especially if there is zero support in Europe, where I'm with my Predaror :(

They can do it, they just either choose not to or don't have the resources to do so.
The apostrophe does not mean "Look out, here comes an S"!

"I couldn't care less" means it is impossible to care less - "I could care less" just makes you look stupid.

I've tuned cars from Iceland to Puerto Rico via email.

If you have good dataloging equipment, you can get a decent tune through emails.

PM me if you're interested

So have I.

We should tag team it.
I'll hande the engine tuning specific issues/questions and you can handle the software/licence bs.

For a nominal fee of course. 8)

Well here goes. I’ll give it a try. LONG read.

I can’t believe this has been going on as long at is has. Everyone has been poking at a release date for three years now and the same reply keeps coming back (No plans for this in the immediate future guys...) The software after three years has to be done, it cant be liability or SCT, HP, EFI-LIVE, TC, TP,TWEECER, or many others would be out of business. So what is it? The CMR dealers?

DEALERS:
What are you worried about? You will be the retailer of this product (if it ever gets released), and that means profit. You all have Dyno’s , and know how to use them. Dyno time is money, and if you follow the tuning forums 80% of the DIY tuners use them to test their abilities and or sort out their problems, this is profit. When it doesn’t work they will pay you and your knowledge to get them to that final number, this is profit. Looks like a win win situation to me. Promote your Dyno to the DYI customer that you just sold a CMR tuning package to (if it ever comes available) and he will come and he will pay to be able to post his numbers, and where he did it. Free advertisement, profit again.

DIY:
I have been a DIY tuner (mostly on my own and family projects and a little for friends) since it was a hand full of 2732 EPROM’s, a HEX editor, and a burner, and if it wasn’t for a good knowledge of EFI and the DIY-EFI forum and a few friends I wouldn’t have ever made it through the steep learning curve of EFI tuning in the beginning. Tuning is a drug, once you start you cant stop. I have grown with the industry and have many brands of software for GM, Ford (gas and diesel), Honda, and some stand alones. When I get a tune close I head for the Dyno and polish it and pay for the time, Oh there’s that profit thing again.

Sorry I drifted here, where I was going is a lot of people (DIYs) are well capable of using the full unedited version of CMR, and I am one of them along with may others. I am in the process of machining my Stroked blown small block 392 for my Dakota, and the release of this software will allow me to finish it the way I want it.

DIABLO:
Here is your chance to do a great thing that no one has done before. Release the single user vin locked software, make it affordable, create a DIY tuning forum (You dealers have one to talk about your problems). They could be broken down into three categories, GM, Ford, and Dodge. To my knowledge there isn’t an open DYI Dodge tuning forum alive anywhere. Yes SCT has the PRP, but roomer has it they are dropping Dodge support. With this Diablo will corner the Dodge market with the release of the CMR single user. Hmm this sounds like a profitable and positive thing for DIABLO, its dealers, and a chance for the DIY to tune his own vehicle.

Your thoughts??
