? about Rev Limit settings when using raised shift points

Post by Raland »

I have a 2007 charger, running the 91 CAI tune with raised shift points.

Per the manual this raises the shift point in "D" to 6400 rpm's and must raise the rev limit to approx 6500/6600 rpm. My questions are about how the "Raise Shift Points" works in combination with the "Raise Rev Limit" adjustment.

First, what is "0" on the scale? I believe the stock rev limit is 6200. If I am using the raised shift points is the centerpoint ("0") still 6200 rpms or the higher rpm needed by the higher shifting (6500 rpm)?

What i'm trying to accomplish is to have my shifting in autostick match that of when in "D" with the raised shift points. I'm assuming the way to do this is to raise the rev limit to around 6500-6600 rpm and autostick willl shift at approx 6400 rpm to avoid hitting the rev limiter. I can't set it to 6500 unless I know what "0".

Also if I'm running raised shift points and LOWER the rev limit (say -400), is it possible to have a situation where the rev limit is lower than the shift point ( hit the rev limiter) when in "D". Will one perimeter takes precedence over the other?

Love the predator!

If your shift points are higher then the rev limiter, you'll have the same problem I did. It was posted on the 300C forum, but here's a cut and paste of it.

I was coming home from work just now, and decided to try a 0-60 run with the Predator tune. I babied it off the line, and then nailed it. Tires absolutely went up in smoke, ESP light went solid and then nothing. No drive to the tranny. No matter what gear the selector was in, nothing happening, just revs the motor. Pulled over, turned the car off, and then restarted it. Thankfully, the tranny came back, but I got the chime and the check engine light came on. Fine, I thought, I can deal with that and can at least get home. Got home, pulled out the Predator to check the codes, No Trouble Codes found. Tried the Actron, no codes again. Started the motor, no light.

Heres the link to the thread with what the guys said was the tranny points being above the rev limiter.. http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt8-g ... pened.html
