I will check into the 2-1 clunk.
The problem only appears when install 91-93 JLT CAI tune from diablosport
with the stock one theirs nothing wrong
and how to check the build date of my car ?

If that doesn't work , run with it off until you get ready to make the 4-5 shift then push it and it should shift as soon as you push it I know this is not a fix for this problem, but it works for me. I hope they get this issue resolved soon. I hope the shift points will be changeable soon also.Mine also clunks when downshifting from2-1.I have stock gears & tires on mine.
Hey budlun,
Man that clunks when downshifting from 2nd-1st. is about to kill me
do you mean the over/drive button ?
what revision are you running?
For me I'm using the last update that released by diablosport which is
trinity_ford_can_gas-1r08g_update.crom
I have had my car since before 12/10/10, so I'm sure it has this issue. You can lift and let it shift and when you get back in it it will jump back down to 4th and lite up the tach at about 7200 RPM.Can you make a performance tune that won't effect the torque command at least the transmission.I like the way it shifts till it gets to the 4-5 shift though, but could do without it for full throttle shifts.AS far as the so called clunk in the 2-1 downshift, this car did it when it was new,it was nothing you did! It dosen't do it with the button depressed it downshifts a little sooner and their is less slack or slop as it's known in Arkansas, It is the slop in the 8.8 rear that is making the clunk.I've been driving the crap out of this car for close to two years and I'm getting to know it well.A 9inch rear is the only sure fix for that problem. What do I do about the 4-5 shift , buy new soleniods, and from who, ford? Thanks Bud Lum
I remember my 2007 with the 5R55S trans clunked in the2-1 downshift sometimes.Idon't have 4:10 gears, so I don,t do the 4-5 shift at WOT often. I am using the latest download,I downloaded it this month it end with an i.It must be a transmission issue if we are the only ones to have this problem.Do I need to update the soleniods from Ford,or is it somethig else.thanx

Yes. Try it with the lite that looks like a car going downhill on .It's on the speedometer.push the button till that lite comes on.Stage your car like that.at6800 in 4th push the button again and it should shift. With the 4:10 gears you might want to push it a few 100 RPMs sooner as it takes a few milliseconds before the shift actually happens.I have had good luck with my 2011 Mustanf GT using it this way.If that dosen't work, try it the other way start with the lite off.then push it and turn it on for the 4-5 shift.Mine works the first way I told you. good luck, Bud Lum

Does this mean I need to get new soleniods from Ford,or what.thanx ,BUD(my car shifted fine with your dynotune it was the Steeda CAI tune that I was sent. thats when I started having shift problems.)
Had to take my car to the dealership for a speaker replacement,so I put my stock air intake and filter with the dynotune and it does the 4-5 shift fine at WOT . Since I can( trick ) the trans to shift with the CAI tune I am sure to put the CAI back on the car.I would like to try the dynotune with it.Can I just fatten it up just a little or is the more to it than A/R ratio .My car doesn't clunk on the2-1 downshift with the OD button pushed. It downshifts sooner and the is still some load on the driveline. That's what is going on.As you know it's not just an OD button. It must be used when roadracing or the trans won't know what to do. Works good in the mountains too. thanx Bud

I believe it's just a tune problem, know I'm using one of the BAMA tune file and it's shifting fine at WOT
also my friend he is using BBR tune with SCT tuner he is doing grate it is not what the are talking about and they said it soleniods
I am not going to buy new solenoids and go into the transmission unless Ford says they are a problem.I have talked to several dealerships and none has heard of any solenoid problems .The fact remains a bama tune fixed my 4-5 shift problem. Now there is no problem.I think Diablosport needs to get their tunes checked by someone like HATE to say it maybe sct. They also have a tune for CAIs that will shift every gear, not to mention adjustable shift points! maybe there is not enough of use having an issue (that they know about),because mine only happened at 145mph+,now I have no shift issue, same solenods.(go figure) My fastest 1/4 mile time was with the Diablotune,so far! What can a poor boy do?(cept sang for a rock, roll band).Just the facts sir!Thanx Bud
Guys I wasn't blaming it on the solenoids, I was just bringing that to your attention as a possible issue because I haven't had any other complaints. I'll look into it further.
