If its a bad coil, it wouldn't be random. P0300 is a random misfire. P030x is a misfire on a particular cylinder.

If the truck previously was modded and had a can the manifold shouldn't be too bad......... Unless he's been beating on it. Then he'll have a puddle.

No, I didn't clean the induction system. Haven't been beating on the truck, either. If I wanted to clean the induction system, what would be the process? (Sorry, semi-mechanically inclined, oil changes and brake jobs mostly).

Gotta pull the manifold, open it up and clean it out.

Probably not a bad idea. Then you'll be able to tell if it was ported and you'll be able to tell if the intake runners in the heads were ported.

Uh, yeah. Like I said, brake jobs and oil changes. Even if I felt comfortable enough to pull the manifold and clean it out, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was ported or starboarded! LOL In any case, hooked up with White Lightning and he's taking excellent care of me! Apparently, there is a cam in this thing!

since the dealer you bought this Jeep from knows it is modded, you could have the intake manifold cleaned there. the mechanics there should be able to tell if the heads & intake are ported.

just make sure they don't do any PCM flashing while your cutom tune is installed. need to tune to stock 1st if they want to do any re-flashing.

glad you like your base tune! should be able to dial the tune in pretty good in a few more revisions.
