I have had this issue for almost 4 years now, I thought once i got the diablo and could log we could figure it out and get rid of it, but nope.
Basically i can be cruising at 35 ish mph and let off the gas once the rpms settle down to about 1000-1200 off load it will start surging about 400+/- rpms. we have tried just about everything and nothing really helps i have raised idle to over 1200 and it has helped but then just made drivability a pain.
Any advice

yeah i have read your article a few times. it doesnt really bug me to much but i know dave have made alot of head way in eliminating the surge. i remember at one point i could see as much as a 600 rpm surge and af going from off the gauge rich to off the gauge lean. we have calmed it down alot but having it completely gone would be even better

the basic anti-surge recipe I have worked out for Ram trucks usually makes a noticeable improvement 1st tune.kfed wrote:yeah i have read your article a few times. it doesnt really bug me to much but i know dave have made alot of head way in eliminating the surge. i remember at one point i could see as much as a 600 rpm surge and af going from off the gauge rich to off the gauge lean. we have calmed it down alot but having it completely gone would be even better
if your tuner hasn't made all the same changes I use, my tune would probably reduce you surge even more.
chefred112 was originally tuned by Bob @ SVS. I was able to reduced Fred's surge more than Bob could. was also able to achieve a stable stall-free idle at a lower rpm too.
you should give my anti-surge recipe a try.

Kfed give Dave a shot at it. If not you'll be missing out on more than just surge reduction. (just sayin)
