06 Charger RT Daytona - custom tune fans run all the time

Post by mpsharp »

long story short--purchased car as 2nd owner and was told there was a custom tune. I had a predator tuner and thought i'd back it up as orignal tune and see what changes were made, but tuner wanted to update cali id and it overwrote the tune with new cal id. UGHHHHHH. :x

I'm working on getting new custom tune written but can't get the fans to shut off--they run all the time. Latest fan settings were at 190/199--still running. I believe car has stock tStat. What should the stock fan settings be set to? I have found values ALL over the place and looking to Diablo for some help!

Also, any other recommendations that I should consider for custom tune while I'm at it? recent data log attached.

THANKS! and Happy New Year!

For the stock T-stat you need to raise the temperatures. They run hotter because the T-stat doesn't open until 203°. I'd suggest going to NAPA and picking up a 180° stat. They're only like $15, anybody can change it in about 10 minutes with just a ratchet, screwdriver and big plastic bag, and the car will be happier.

Set fan settings at 208 for hi and med and 199 for low fans. I might get a new tStat later.

Any other changes I should consider with the Comp cam 273 installed while having tuned?

Probably gonna have to raise the idle. You already put in the Comp 26918 springs, right? I believe those are the ones required for the 273. They're the ones I ran with my 268, so unless Comp wants something stiffer for the bigger cam, they'd be the ones.
