2011 gmc sierra DOD turn off problom

Post by ncange4 »

so after i installed this tune (the stock tune with DOD off) i notices that my oil pressure gauge was running higher. when driving it would be at 50, 55 ish and when idle it would be a 40. after removing the tune and having the stock tune in it runs at 40 driving and 35 idle ish. what should i do about this if i wan a turn the DOD off.

Thats just how its gonna be. The extra oil pressure is needed to keep the DOD lifters pumped up. Only way around it is to swap the DOD lifters with regular ones.

120K? That aint squat. My 99 Z28 is still rolling strong at 197K+....although it truly is a second motor, but its been there for about 130K, and the tranny is rebuilt, but theres a LOT of stock parts on the car, considering the abuse it has lived through in the past...

How can you guys deal with driving cars with that much mileage? I'd be totally paranoid about it breaking down and leaving me stuck someplace. My Stang (93k) and Camaro (68k) were the only ones I've had somewhat high, and I didn't keep either one very long. Most go away in the teens, 20's and 30's, though the BMW just cracked 40k before it was traded in.

In addition, I don't do much mileage and get bored of cars, so that helps getting rid of them with low mileage too. Picked up the V on 8/1, now 5 1/2 months later, its just about to crack 1,500 miles.

I do about 20k miles or so a year... drive an hour each way / 80 miles a day just going to/from the regular day job...

can't afford to buy new cars that often, and it's nice not having car payments, lower car taxes, etc. :)

when I bought my car, I worked about 2.5 miles from my house, so I could go out racing on a Wednesday night, destroy the car, and walk to work the next day if I had to :)

Its this crazy commute i make daily to come to the job that I love, thats killing my poor car.
But I'll say this, I have so much faith in that Z28. It always starts. Always works. Never misses a beat ;)
