hi, this is my first time ever on a forum, also i am also a first time corvette owner [very proud if i may add]. im pretty much a noob with this.


today i bought a diablo predator from a guy at work [yeah yeah i know, can tune vs dyno tune...dyno wins everytime, i just want something basic with the few mods i have]. unlocked but he used it on a different car. its the same number u7198x. i made sure before buying it. now the issue i am having is when i was installing it something happend, im not sure what. at first it said "vehicle not found", after that i returned to the main menu and turned it off. now its saying reduced engine and the whole 9 yards [tire light, fuel low and everything] what happend? now the predator wont register at all? can someone help me with this? what went wrong?

any aftermarket electronics installed on the car? i.e. aftermarket stereo, subs, amp, nav, remote start, alarm, etc etc ???

if so, they need to be disabled/pull the fuses for 'em before you try anything...

did you have the vette in accessory mode or the key turned to the "ON" position (but engine not running) ??

im not sure about the aftermarker electronics, im thinking it might have a aftermarker MAF because when i changed out my volant intake for the slp blackwing i noticed that the MAF was missing a screen and it looked a little different to me. other than that it has the 12 disk player [that came with it.]

i had it on the "on" position without engine running of course.

what is the revision on the top line of the main menu?

a 12 disc player is definitely not the stock radio, heh... and if it has an aftermarket MAF sensor on it, you'll want to get a stock one and get rid of that aftermarket one...

the 12 disk is an option for the car [dealer installed option of course its plug and play] , i've been thinking about taking it out anyway, who uses cds anymore? lol. other than that its the stock head unit

im going to check for codes today on my lunch break. i unhooked the battery and left it alone for 20-30 mins. hooked it back up and the codes were gone and it could start up again.

i dont know what the revision is, he said he bought it new in 2010, so its not that old.

power up the predator, and once it gets to the main menu, the revision number is shown at the top of the screen.... what is it?

should be a 9rxx number if it's a newer one...

sorry, i havent been able to respond. i had a question, would the aftermarket MAF [if it is one] throw the predator off and make it not read correctly or at all?

[i'll get the revision number asap..just been very busy with a few things..hell i havent been able to clean my car or anything. no free time what so ever]

yes, the aftermarket MAF is no good even with the stock GM programming, worse with the Predator as the MAF will try to trick the PCM into running leaner.

the number is 9r17. i tried again and it still has an orginal backup for another car. this time i didnt have an issue. it says the problem is "unknown vehicle" any ideas?

the programmer was bought 10/08/10 and last used on a 2002 GMC sierra if that helps any.

unknown vehicle is a new one, any chance you can call us with the tool powered up in the car so we can check it out?
