This is completely crazy, so please bear with me.
I've had a U7135 for my 2010 Challenger SRT8 for about a year. I just now scratched the "forced induction" itch and am having a Kenne Bell 2.8L supercharger installed as you read this. The Kenne Bell kit comes with a custom -- and from what I've read, locked -- Predator tune. This means that I can't use my U7135 anymore.
But alas, I have another HEMI in my stable: a 2010 Ram 1500 Laramie. This HEMI requires the U7137 Predator. This leads me to two questions:
1) Is there a trade-in program for my perfectly good and almost new U7135 toward the purchase of a U7137?
2) What's the fundamental difference between one 5.7/6.1 HEMI tuner and the other? Shouldn't my U7135 tickle the 5.7L HEMI in my truck just fine?
Thanks!

Trading in almost new U7135 for a U7137?

Totally different hardware, totally different computers.
Trade in is only worth $99. Sell it yourself and buy a u7137. Should be able to get at least $200.

I hope everyone doesn't mind a follow-up question to this, at a slightly different angle. If so, I'll start a new post.
I now have two DiabloSport Predators: the U7135 that I've known and loved for a year, and this KB7135 that's locked to the canned Kenne Bell supercharger tune. My question is: Which one should I keep? Can the "real" U7135 do anything that the KB7135 can't, or now that the KB7135 is married to my 2010 Challenger's ECU, can I no longer use my U7135?
Thanks again!

Its fine for uploading custom tunes. Just like the VR7135 I gave them with the Jeep. Its just useless for everything else.

Nope, actually Mike, the KB tools work totally differently from any other Predator, thus they are not fun for trying to load custom tunes
The VR tools work like regular Predators, the KB is a different animal.

Its not just a rebadged Predator? Why'd they do that? What a stupid thing to do. Figures they'd do something like that. The men in charge there always have been hardheaded assholes.

lol, yeah, they wanted it to NOT be able to export files and they also wanted to be able to preload tunes, thus it works on its own code base, and it drives me nuts everytime I get a call that starts with a dealer saying 'Im trying to tune this car with a KB7135'.
Only reason we let it ride is because its almost a guarantee that for every KB7135 we sell, we're going to sell another U7135 or inTune/Trinity to that guy when they decide they want to custom tune it

And you completely described my situation. I have the KB7135, still in the box, and will continue to use my "real" U7135 for everything else. I kinda wish Kenne Bell just gave me the .DRG file on a USB flash drive and saved me/them the $$$ of shipping a whole, new, crippled Predator.mikel wrote:lol, yeah, they wanted it to NOT be able to export files and they also wanted to be able to preload tunes, thus it works on its own code base, and it drives me nuts everytime I get a call that starts with a dealer saying 'Im trying to tune this car with a KB7135'.
