06 Silverado HD 8100 w/Allison is DEAD. . Please HELP

Hey all. Sad day in driveway. Finally got U7192 already loaded with v13. Out to truck and plugged er in. Chose 87 tune, just to see difference, and get some miles to get set for logging and Lew tune purchase. Sytem pulled original tune backup, then started writting tune to vehhicle. At 6% it shuts down with error writting 87 tune ; illegal programming address (6cf0107600740000fc00). Unit begins to install original tune, shuts down at 7% ; illegal programming address (6cf01076007400013c00).

Now truck is DEAD. Predator is stuck in "Last tune did not finish. . ." mode and cant do a thing. . .

PLEASE HELP SOON, truck is daily driver.

try pulling the battery cables for a minute, then plug it in, see if it starts, if not, call us with the tool powered up in the truck.

Did battery, no start, called tech, tried Force, same error. Programmmer will be on its way to you, truck is headed to dealer for reflash. Hope next attempt goes better.

sounds like there was an issue with the tool itself, it is a rare occurrence.

Talking with teck this morning, seemed to me if I send ECM with tuner for fix, DS would complete for free with overnight shipping both ways. Down time a couple days. But I send truck do dealer and pay for flash to have truck operational, I have to pay shipping for tuner both ways, and tuner downtime is 10-15 days? ? ? ?

next day stuff is only if there is a non-operational vehicle waiting for it.

even if we call tagged them both, if the unit needed repairs, it would take time, and the PCM would come back by itself.

Again, our concern here is simply getting the vehicle running asap.

Okie Dokie. That still seems like excelent support. Justt checked email and have received RMA #14252. Even seen your name on FWD list of hands it went through. Heeheehee. Will be in the mail tomorrow. I am gonna put out a guess, and say waiting would be good any how, just to let LTFT's relearn over a few miles before trying to log and adjust, or use tune on it anyway? ? ?

Excelent! ! ! Email today, Predator on its way back. THAT was fast. Any telling what was wrong with it? Just curious if it was individual unit or operator error occured. On another note, with my truck in mind, does Diablo have or intend to come out with anything that will crack the Allison tranny TCM? ? ?

Another sad day in driveway. Got tool back yesterday, went out this morning to try and load a tune and tool failed to complete tune and restore. Had good luck to talk to Mike L on phone (must have been luck, thanks for trying to help Mike), went through a few attempts to get original backup (OB) restored (even with tech and engineeer support for new .crom version just for my problem), tool still will not restore original backup. After John (on phone and reinstall of older DSDownloader to install tool update) tried to help, tool still will not restore OB. Back on phone with John, call tag requested PCM and tool will be on overnight trip tomorrow. Hopefully full attention and engineer support will be thrown at this one in a million problem child and have me up and running again (smiling full tilt) ready to get LewTuned. Try to get it back post haste and make me happy camper guys. . .

Not the norm at all. And look at the support. Thats what makes Diablosport the leader in this market. A bunch of great people and good products

Well, I got your PCM and Predator.
Hooked it up on the bench, pluggged the Predator in, and it restored the backup with no problem.
Tool was able to read and write the PCM 3 or 4 more times, all is well.

What does this mean?
Well, my assumption that the Predator was OK seems to be correct.
The PCM responds as it should...
That just leaves the truck. Wiring, harness, some electronics, bad ground, something caused this issue, because removing the truck from the equation makes everything work as it should.

PCM and Predator are on the way back to you...I would suggest not using the tool though until you can isolate the issue in the vehicle.

So, PCM and tool were on way back Friday? I realize most next day or overnight shipping don't deliver Saturdays, so i take today off, thinking I want to be home for expected signature required delivery, and have time to reinstall PCM. I just got email with tracking number that UPS has no tracking information available! ! ! Did I take a day off expecting to get PCM back and truck running, and package just got sent today, so I have to take tomorrow off also? ? ? Real frustration beginning to set in now. . . .
