The last time I got my car back from the dealership (4 or 5 months ago), I went to reload the Trinity tune and it said it needed to downgrade. So I did the downgrade and the tune went right in. This may have been something entirely different than your issue, but I just thought I'd throw that out here, My Trinity is an older one. Just ignore this if it doesn't apply.
No, this is a valid comment to the problem. Diablo loads the latest Dodge CAL at the time of Trinity programming when the Trinity is created at Diablo. When it arrives at your door, and attempts to marry with your car, it'll either want to upgrade or downgrade based on what is in your car at that time. Once that change occurs you can't go back.

In my case it wanted to upgrade since the CAL in my car's PCM was an older version than was in the Trinity. However, my car ran perfect and I'd rather have had the option to leave it alone and just use the Trinity to load tunes and datalog without having to update or change anything.

I've learned when you have a tune that works well to leave it alone. I'm hopeful a solution comes about.

I asked Mike about them supporting multiple CALs in the tool, but he said due to the way the CALs work that wasn't possible.

I've been experiencing the same (very frustrating) throttle lag in my 2009 Challenger R/T 6-speed. I needed to update the CalID when I got my inTune, and it's been happening ever since. I'd also be interested in a Cal "downgrade" option, as suggested by Speedy.

For the record, my original CalID was 05187899AE, and the "new-and-UNimproved" CalID is 05187899AG.

This is the exact same CALIDs I had. AE worked great, AG had the problem.

I still haven't found resolution yet.

I'm going to give it a bit more time, then will have my PCM flashed back to AE and just go back to the Predator.

Although we're looking to DiabloSport to help us with this throttle lag, it would be better if Dodge just fixed the problem that they created. I've been searching through other forums and it appears that every owner of a 2009-2010 6-speed Challenger R/T with CalID 05187899AE is having the same issue. This really can be a safety concern if you expect to accelerate rapidly and the vehicle doesn't respond. Other owners have reported that Dodge told them its "within tolerance". I just filed a safety complaint with NHSTA, it only took a few minutes (https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleCo ... ndex.xhtml). Maybe if enough owners due this, Dodge will be forced to make an update so our vehicles throttles respond properly.

Have any of you guys tried running ground straps from the throttle body? Its been determined that the OEM harness isn't grounding out the Hemi throttles right, and a plastic intake manifold can't ground it either, so it causes a delay. Run a wire from the chassis to one of the TB bolts. That helps on the Rams and other LX's, so theres no reason for it not to work on the Challenger too.

Hey Speedy. FlatTop hopes you get right before Cf3. My upgrade had issues also. Bricked my mtcm and lost my tunes. Johan got me straight. Had to buy another mtcm though. Still not a better product than the Trinity IMHO

Welp, looks like this is more complicated and going to take time to resolve. I'm yanking my PCM today and mailing it back to my tuner to get it flashed back to where it was and I'll just go back to using the Predator until this issue is solved.

If I get news I'll update this thread down the road. For now I'm going back to CALID 05187899AE.

Maybe Diablo will add support for that CALID to the Trinity to help us out.

I wonder if it would be possible for Diablo to come up with one base CAL that works with all R/T or SRT Challenger etc to avoid these types of issues. Find one good known CAL and always use that same one in their tuners rather than whatever is the latest from Dodge.

The only improvement I saw in anything going to the latest CALID was a bit better cold start (quicker) but other than that no difference. Not worth it for the rest of the issues it has.

I just seen u tube link Speedy posted. I never relalized it was that bad !!!!!!! No wonder everyone is pissed off with this issue.
To jack off the throttle like that with no response would have me putting on War paint.
Hope the reflash works as it may be the only real fix. I know what my cal and tool upgrade did. :(
I dont care if a new wiz bang HP finder comes out producing 100 extra ponies,,,I wont up / down grade my tool ever again.
Agreed the tool should be able to clear and go BACK

I've gotten feedback that the grounding I mentioned above DOES WORK on the Challenger. It takes like 30 seconds to do and costs virtually nothing. Try it.

wow, thanks for that info Mike! dont know if i'm missing something, but why would the delay not happen in 1-3 gears, but only 4-6 its there. i mean wouldnt it do it any time the throttle is blipped from full off in any gear?

i'm going to have to try that...

chrysler needs to get off their ass and fix this shit. ridiculous!

I'm not sure. Its worth trying to see if it solves the problem. If it doesn't, you have better response in all gears so theres nothing to lose. :)
