2010 6.4L Powerstroke high idle

Post by adhaynes91 »

I have a 2010 F250 and I have recently done the DPF/CAT delete and an EGR delete kit. After doing all this to my truck it now idles at about 1000rpm and 1200 when its cold. I am looking into purchasing a diablo sport predator for my truck but was wondering if this programmer will send a code that will idle my truck back down. Any assistance will be very appreciative!

Hmmm...do you have any trouble codes present currently/
What means are you using to delete the dpf and EGR?

Did you use any type of device to change the programming after the hardware removal?

I used the DPF-R 4.0 from gear box z. I checked for codes yesterday and I didnt have any. I'm not real sure what to do i just know its a pain to have to cram the brake pedal down at a red light to keep the truck from moving lol

I have a guy here using the DPFr 4.0 and the extreem puck and the Trinity together and no problems other than rolling sheets of rubber off the tires. No EGR delete yet though. I willl see if I can reach him about wether or not he can modify the idle.

I preciate it! I want to be able to blow some black smoke too. I was also pretty interested in the predator because it wasnt to pricey.

Cannot reach him at the moment...will try again later when he is back from work!
Maybe Mike can answer if there is an idle adjustment on the unit.
If you can find the coin ...The Trinity is the way to go! Engine and tranny tunes that are Wicked.

no, there are no idle speed adjustment options...but your tune has not changed, so it is still commanding a stock idle, if it is higher something else is affecting it.
My guess is that even if you told the PCM to lower the idle, you'd still have the issue since it seems to not have control of idle speed currently.

Have you rechecked all the wiring connectors in the area worked on, the coolant temp sensor could cause it if there is no reading (cold) is what the computer will see and put in high idle.
Could try contacting GeraBoxZ they may have encountered it.

wouldnt a coolant temp sensor throw a code though? and ive checked all the egt sensors because ive heard that if the last one is loose that it could cause high idle
