The other day I did a short datalog run with 1r01g fw rev. My questions is, does datalogging or disabling traction control put your car into a limp mode? I noticed when I tried to do a short WOT pull it was like it was governed to a low rpm. I thought this might be normal so I go home and disconnect. Then I went and basically just spent some time viewing the default parameters. The scary part comes the next morning (I did notice my check engine light was on but I thought it was because I disabled traction control) as I'm getting onto the highway and merging in front a semi apparently my car is still in this limp mode and I can only go 60mph! I almost crapped my pants! WTF! Thank god I had the tuner in the car so I pulled over and enabled TC, rewrote the tune I was using, then checked for DTC's. It said there was 1 code but didnt say what it was. It cleared the code and all was well and has been fine since.
So am I an idiot and forgot a step somewhere? Or is this a bug that got fixed with the most recent update?
My next question is, what adjustment would I make if I'm running 89octane with a CAI? I only see 91 in the list and I'm not sure yet if I want to switch to 91. I'm not sure but it sounds like I'm getting some knock at low rpms. I'll have to do more datalogging but I want to make sure I'm soing it right first.
I know I have alot of learning to do but I figure I got to get my feet wet somehow.
Couple questions about tuning and logging
RE: Couple questions about tuning and logging
Disabling traction control sure can. Its designed for use on the dyno only.
