Feedback on inTune for my 2011 Tahoe

Post by bcb1 »

I have to admit I was a little nervous at the thought of plugging a tool into my truck and overwriting the PCM. I'm a computer guy and I know that Murphy's Law is alive and well. My nightmare scenario was that I'd have to go to the dealership with my hat in my hand and have them reflash my truck after I screwed it up

I'm happy to report that I flashed my truck successfully with the 87 octane tune with DOD disabled, and I am very pleased with the performance of the tune. It seems to have taken out all the sluggishness of the truck, making it much more enjoyable to drive. The best thing is that Active Fuel Mangement is now GONE. Hurray! That alone was worth buying the tool.

No one will ever mistake driving a Tahoe with an 87 Octane tune for driving a performance car. It's not neck-snapping performance that you're getting. But it sure does make the truck run better. I actually enjoy driving it now.
