09 Ram Hemi "reading origianal backup" falilure ag

Post by sgt.slaughter »

Plugged it into my pc and got calibration loaded without too much trouble, but now when I choose 91 octane tune, it says reading original backup 0%, "WAIT" and then failure to read original backup. over and over. Called tech support and the guy told me that my truck battery was probly not putting out enough juice...so I went out and bought a new battery, even though it cranked my truck just fine....Nope. Intune$400, battery $100, still no go. I see other peoples posts where you tell them to call in. Do there issues get resolved? because they never repost after. I sure hope so. I'm on ramforumz and people have been happy with diablosport from what i can tell but I think that might have been with the predator. Seriously bummed. Help please

Interesting, can you go to settings/tool info/vehicle info and get me the calid?
or better yet, post the whole info.xml file here.

Thanks

its been doing it since I bought it. I was working with Jon and Vasil to get it fixed...Jon had me pulling every fuse in my box and it didnt work. Unhooked all aftermarket electronics in the truck...unhooked the battery to clear the pcm and still didnt work...Not sure what else to do...

Same issue here...I cannot believe a company with a good reputation would release a non-functional device; apparently the reputation is overrated. I was told my only option was to go with the Trinity...nice...or send the device back to whom I bought it from!

gentlemen, I believe I have a fix, please drag/drop the attached file to the intune drive, and then try again, and let me know.

Thanks

Mike,

Trying to call, but still on-hold...hoping to see if my device is locked up again; Vas was helping me earlier today with this and said it was locked up from the get-go.

Also, mine is '10 Ram 1500 w/ the 5.7L Hemi

Mike - I have been having the same issue: Failed to write PCM backup. I've added the file you attached above, and updated my tuner and re-attempted to tune the truck to no avail. I've tried calling multiple times only to be on hold for minimum 30+ minutes before giving up. What is the best method to get this issue resolved?

Thanks,

Update - spoke with Vas on the phone, and unfortunately he informed me that a few of the'09 Rams were having the same issue, although not all of them. It seems that it is something specific to the truck (not the tuner) and that in order to troubleshoot it they would need to have the truck in their shop (or one of the other '09's having the same issue). Until such time, there really isn't much they can do. Although this sucks, I did appreciate the honesty that Vas gave me and also that I could return the inTune for a full refund. He said to keep checking in every couple of weeks and hopefully they can get their hands on one of these problematic trucks soon and come up with a solution. Again, shitty but better to return it for a refund and to call in and see if they have fixed the problem then having a $400 paper weight with no solution to the problem.

One final note - he also did inform me that a guy that called in a few weeks ago with the exact same issue used a Predator tuner with no issues whatsoever on the same truck. The predator has all of the same box tunes as the inTune and is cheaper to buy as well.

Hope this helps some of you guys out and at least you know versus not having the information and getting frustrated. Thanks for your help Vas, appreciate your honesty and good customer service!

Cheers,
