nope... it still holds true for the inTune... but this info is for GM vehicles... ford/dodge vehicles are different, different parameters, don't have the same ones that GM's have, etc...

gotcha. i know i did this for my old chevy. you actually did most of it. so i cant use the dslogredux on a dodge then? ill prolly just not mess with it till i decide to get a custom tune. any recommendations on a guy in middle georgia

correct.. dslogredux only works for GM vehicle data logs with those specific parameters logged...

the COT temp.. no, you don't HAVE to log it, but it will help a little more with the log analyzing if you do...

RPM Range
Hello all, I'm new here and new to tuning. First off, thank you all for taking the time to make all of these tutorials and materials accessible and comprehensive to newbies like me. I've been running the 93 Diablo tune on my GXP for a couple months and love it, now I'm venturing into fine tuning it and have started with this guide. My first log I wasn't really happy with because of to many fluctuations on that particular highway but I managed to get a really good one today. I cruise at 60-70mph in 4th but my rpm range is always 1590-2100 with it occasionally kicking up to 2300ish under engine load. It is almost a constant avg. 1700rpm though and seems like normal performance. My question is how are these logs going to skew the parameters in dsredux and what allowances should I make when adjusting due to the lower rpm sample range? Any info is appreciated, thanks guys.

RE: RPM Range
dslogredux filters through the data log and uses only the data that falls into the correct specifications... i.e. it will only use data rows where the rpms are 1800-2500, and where the throttle position is a certain %, and this, and that, etc...
so don't worry.. the whole entire log does not have to be all at atleast 1800 rpm... the app will filter through it and use only the rows of data that fall within the necessary guidelines.

dependable logging
Hello again, thanks for the quick response. I've been doing some logging under different scenarios and they're leading to completely contradicting adjustments and I'm not sure which to believe. All logs were done @ 55-70 mph
I originally did a log in 4th gear that had a lot of braking and resuming speed but provided enough info to recommend a -7% adj. on the slope of the installed 93 no dod tune. Air intake temps around 78F
The next log I did was the low rpm range in 4th gear that I posted about previously. The avg. rpm was around 1700 and led to an adj. of +9% putting me at +2% on the slope. This was a bit warmer night, intake temp 80F.
Today I did a log in 3rd gear with a damn near constant 2150 avg. rpm. It was a good start to finish hold of throttle pos and rpm. It was a lot cooler making intake temps around 56F. The new rec. adjustment is now -14% which would put me @ -12 on the slope which sounds severe to a newb like me.
Which logging scenario should I use and continue with? Is the rpm more important than gear or is top gear a must?
If intake temp has that much impact, is the goal to tune to high air temps for summer performance and accept running richer/leaner in colder night temps?
Thanks for taking the time to field annoying questions

Is it ok if I put this here? It helped clear up my logging questions...06MonteSS wrote:for logging and getting your ltft's where they should be, you need to do the logging during a normal, typical summer day when it's in the high 80's, or in the 90's...
you do not want to be logging at night in the cooler air... need to do the data logging during the warmest part of the day...
if your outside temp was only 57*, then you want your ltft's to be at about +2 or +3... because once it warms up to the normal warm/hot summer temps, they will drop, and then they will be in the 0 to -2 range where they should be...
After some trial and error and lots of gas I found another thread where Monte already addressed logging in different air temps. I managed to dial mine in to +2.5 ltft avg. in 60ish degree weather which should compensate for Pittsburgh's usual upcoming shift from freezing to sweltering armpit. As the temp creeps up I'll keep logging and hopefully they'll match up soon so I can move onto WOT!

yes, that sounds about right man... good compensation there
